The Scrapstore
had to close| |whole.|||||||its doors to members,
and supplies

as their businesses

by the lockdowns,
although| ||||||||we did continue to receive some| ||||||||donations.
However, the Trustees made| ||||||||a decision not to place our single| ||||||||employee
on furlough,
but to ask her to| ||||||||continue to work with local charities and| ||||||||community
groups to produce activity| ||||||||and resource packs for local children| ||||||||who were normally
in receipt offree| ||||||||school meals. These Boredom Buster| ||||||||packs were well received and over 450| ||||||||were produced
and distributed.| ||||||||Working
in partnership
with Weston| ||||||||Artspace, we successfully
applied for| ||||||||funding
from North Somerset Council to| ||||||||set up a project to support good mental| ||||||||health via art and creativity,
using a| ||||||||range ofwaste and scrap materials.| ||||||||One hundred
at risk adults were| ||||||||supported
over a 6-month
period via| ||||||||this project. Once the lockdowns
were| ||||||||ended, we reopened
the Scrapstore, and| ||||||||itwas good to welcome existing and| ||||||||new members,
suitably social distanced.| ||||||||In February
2021 we were surprised
to| ||||||||receive notice to quit our premises
from| ||||||||our landlords.
This necessitated
much| ||||||||work on the part ofour Manager
and the| ||||||||Trustees to find suitable
new premises| ||||||||close to our existing location.
A| ||||||||decision was taken to lease a much| ||||||||larger warehouse,
and we are grateful to| ||||||||Quartet Community
Foundation
and the| ||||||||Society of Merchant Venturers
for their| ||||||||support
