During the period 20 October 2020 to 1[st] Match 2021 Covid lockdown was in effect, therefore MATCH was restricted from holding meetings or events. However, during the lockdown the trustees considered upgrading MATCH to a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO), which would give more protection to the trustees and members and would improve our constitution.
This was agreed and the application was completed and forwarded to the Charity Commissions, and on the 20th October 2020, MATCH became a CIO charity.
MATCH has been quiet since lockdown was lifted. However, they have continued to support local charities, Milton Abbas surgery, and awarded several donations. The first AGM of the new CIO was held in July 2022 and was well supported by the MATCH members and the trustees were all voted in. Members were asked to let the trustees know how we could help them and what they required from MATCH.
Some of the longest serving trustees are considering retiring, and MATCH are trying to encourage younger people to join as it is felt that they could bring fresh ideas and enhance the way forward for MATCH.
