## **Objectives and activities**
The Main Objectives for the public benefit are:
(1). The advancement of Sanatan Dharma and the Hindu way of life (religion) in the UK for the benefit of the public through the holding of public celebrations of religious festivals, prayer meetings, discourses, singing of bhajan and kirtans (Hindu prayers and hymns), classes and producing seminars and literature on Sanatan Dharma (Hinduism) to enlighten others about Sanatan Dharm – Hindu faith. Benefits to include, but not an exhaustive list:
(i) Contributing towards a better society by promoting social cohesion, respect for all humanity and social capital
(ii) Contributing to the participating public’s mental, spiritual, and physical well-being. (iii) Providing comfort to the bereaved.
(iv) Carrying out, as a practical expression of religious beliefs, other activities – such as advancing religious education or relieving poverty
(2). The advancement of Hindu culture and the arts in the UK for the benefit of the public through the preservation of historical traditions, including festivals, religious-folk dancing, recital of ancient Indian spiritual poetry and the practice and education of Indian classical music
(3). The relief of poverty and improving child and animal welfare in the UK and abroad.
(i) The prevention or relief of poverty and/or financial hardship anywhere in the world by providing or assisting in the provision of sustenance, shelter and any necessary support designed to enable individuals to generate a sustainable income and be self-sufficient
(ii) The prevention or relief of poverty anywhere in the world for children by providing or assisting in the provision of education,
sustenance, shelter, and any necessary support designed to enable children to be able to work and thereby generate a sustainable income for their future selves to be self-sufficient
(iii) For the benefit of the public to help alleviate the suffering and/or cruelty towards animals in need of care and attention; in particular to provide sustenance to impoverished, elderly and abandoned cows (Hindu sacred animal) in India as well as other animals around the world. Also, to contribute towards the provision of other facilities for the reception, care and treatment of such animals
The Main activities undertaken for the public benefit were:
- The holding of cultural and religious events, in particular for Shivratri and Navratri
- Singing of bhajans and Kirtans for the community
- Provision of food services to vulnerable individuals, children, and families in the local community
- The holding of religious and cultural workshops for children

## **Achievements and performance**
The Main Achievements of the CIO in the period were:
- The CIO continued to promote religious, cultural, and musical heritage for devotees across the UK during events by holding musical events, Pooja and children’s workshops. They also continued to deliver the two main flagship events of Shivratri and Navratri.
- The CIO continues to provide hot food and other essential items for the homeless in central London monthly through outreach events. The service generally feeds between 100 to 120 people. The CIO also provides breakfast meals in an East London school for children and provides essential items to their families when required. Breakfast is provided to at least 35 children a day.
- The CIO purchased a van this year which helps significantly with its logistical ability to raise funds through private religious/musical events and in serving the homeless in the city
## **Financial review**
The Reserves at the year-end totalled £35,372 and were in the current bank accounts. Reserves were maintained at their level as to ensure funds were readily available for expansion of charity works. Reserves are also maintained to fund working capital and to fund shortfalls in charitable income when income does not reach expected levels.
## **Further financial review details**
The CIO relies on donations and offerings from its members and the public. It is recognised that donations and offerings can fluctuate from year to year. The trustees aim to ensure that the CIO has sufficient resources to continue its activities and meet its obligations to his end, it is considered prudent that sufficient liquid funds are maintained. The CIO does not involve itself in any speculative investment activities and ensures funds are always kept safe and secure.

**Report to the trustees/** KSMY Seva Trust UK **members of On accounts for the** 31 December 2023 **Charity** 1191894 **period ended number** I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the period ended 31 December 2023. **Responsibilities and** As the charity's trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in **basis of report** accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”). I report in respect of my examination of the Trusts’ accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
**Independent** I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to **examiner's statement** my attention in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect:
- the accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act; or
- the accounts did not accord with the accounting records; or
- the accounts did not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities Accounts and Reports Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a ‘true and fair’ view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
