## **Trustees Report Covering Year ended 30[th] June 2025** 

The purposes of the club are: 

Create and foster a spirit of understanding among the peoples of the world. 

To promote the principles of good government and good citizenship. 

To Take an active interest in the civic, cultural, social and moral welfare of the community. 

To promote a forum for the open discussion of all matters of public interest; provided, however, that partisan politics and sectarian religion shall not be debated by the club members. 

To encourage service minded people to serve their community without personal financial reward and to encourage efficiency and promote high ethical standards in commerce, industry, professions, public works and private endeavours. 

The club was formed in October 2020 with 20 members, now 22 members and has focussed on local community service projects within the areas that our members reside. Whilst, the majority of our members reside in the Midlands area, we include members across England and Wales. The club meets virtually, online with occasional face to face events. 

Community service projects have included litter picks, spectacle recycling and assisting with running local community events. Most of the club’s income has been generated through online events such as quizzes, members crafting initiatives, a small monthly lottery and donations from our members, the Public or other organisations. 

Expenditure includes donations to Lions clubs International Foundation (LCIF), donations to Lions Youth projects. Administration and governance costs include zoom licence to enable monthly meetings of members, lottery licence, subscription costs to Lions clubs International. Note that all admin costs are supported through contributions from members through members’ dues, meeting ‘fines’ for humorous misdemeanours and other individual contributions. 

In total, income for this reporting period was £4325 and costs £4336. The primary focus for the charity is to support local community service with small donations to charitable causes for example LCIF as outlined above. LCIF responds to natural disasters around the world and providing awareness and support for health issues such as avoidable blindness. We have also supported Dementia UK, Alzheimer’s Society, carried out litter picks and beach cleans. We have also supported other community events as volunteers. 

Plans for the coming year include more community service projects, community events and small donations to support charitable causes as well as LCI youth projects.
