Objectives and Activities

Summary of the purposes of the charity as set out in its governing document	Para1.17	To promote social inclusion for the public benefit by preventing people from becoming socially excluded, relieving the needs of those people who are socially excluded and assisting them to integrate into society, in particular but not exclusively by: 1. Raising public awareness of the issues affecting Neurodivergent people, their parents and carers, both generally and in relation to their social exclusion; 2. Providing workshops, forums, advocacy and general support; 3. Providing a range of activities and opportunities for Neurodivergent and neurotypical people. For the purpose of this clause ‘socially excluded’ means being excluded from society, or part of society, as a result of being Neurodivergent, and those affected by these differences such as their parents and carers.
Summary of the main activities in relation to those purposes for the public benefit, in particular, the activities, projects or services identified in the accounts. Online social gatherings 3 times per week – Moots Quiz Moot every fortnight. 1:1 individual help and support for members with employment, DWP, housing and accessing neurodevelopmental diagnostic assessments. Working with public sector organisations to highlight issues that neurodivergent people have in accessing Diagnostic assessments and exercising their legal right to choose.

Achievements and Performance

Summary of the main achievements of the charity, identifying the difference the charity’s work has made to the circumstances of its beneficiaries and any wider benefits to society as a whole.	Para1.20	S4Nd won the local Breakthrough Charity of the year 2020. The charity has received positive feedback on its activities, it’s ambitions and mission. Several testimonials have been posted on S4Nd.coms homepage online. Feedback given by members: Knowing that there are other people who have gone through what I’m struggling with, and that there was empathy and understanding of my situation because of shared experiences. There are so many things! Being able to communicate with S4Nd in the evenings and at weekends as well as weekdays is really helpful. Also not having to speak on the phone but instead having the option to text/email is helpful. Angie is well connected and has on more than one occasion been able to put me in contact with people from other organisations such as Public Health England. I would never have thought of contacting anyone there. I’ve learnt about mine and my children’s rights to choose where we are assessed, which has given me the confidence to approach my GP to request this for both of my children. Angie has also been supporting me with this too. Knowing that if I want to access it there is a group I can attend online where neurodivergent people can chat to each other is a comfort. Knowing there is an organisation that can advocate for me when I can’t advocate for myself.

The charity's trustees consider than an audit is not required for this year under section 144 of the Act and that an independent examination is needed. It is my responsibility- to examine the accounts under section 145 of the Charities Act to follow the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission (under section 1451Sllbl of the Act. and to state whether particular matters have come to my attention 8asis of Independent Examinerfs Statement My examination was tarried out in accordance with general Directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those record5.
