01 Objectives and Activities:

ZIMUTO CHARITABLE TRUST--- TRUSTEES  ANNUAL REPORT AND ACCOUNTS; 

The purpose of the Zimuto Charitable Trust is the prevention or relief of poverty in Zimbabwe by providing or assisting in the provision of education, training, healthcare  projects  and  supporting  the  work  done  by  Samasuwo  Group  of Schools  and  Samasuwo  Health  Centre  in  Zimbabwe  and  supporting  the communities in the Slough, Iver, Langley, Hayes, West Drayton, Maidenhead areas in the United Kingdom. In 2021—2022 we were unable to do anything due to having no money. 

Public benefit: UK Operations. 

## 02 Achievements and Perfomance: 

From December 2021 to October 2022 the Zimuto Charitable Trust was not very busy did not achieve much only received £450.00 from Go fund me which was used in the purchase of cement to make cement bricks for the Samasuwo Health Centre. 


## **03  Future Plans:** 

The Zimuto Charitable Trust is anticipating getting more funds to support the Samasuwo  Health Centre and Samasuwo  Primary  School in its endeavour in building the next Classroom Block which will accommodate Grades 3—7 which is currently on foundation level and desirous to build three more Teachers Houses

which are two bedroomed semidetached this would be able to accommodate all teachers to Grade seven again one of the house is on foundation one on wall plate level and one work not yet started. We are anticipating a year full of activities. There is a piece of land adjacent to the schools earmarked for the Samasuwo Health Centre which will have four inpatient wards and outpatient clinic. The vision is to have a resident Medical Doctor with a number of nurses and donations are called for on this. 

## **Computer Lab:** 

The Trustees are keen in introducing computers despite the lack of electricity and  internet  in  the  area.  Solar  system  would  be  of  great  help.  The  School Committee has since approached the Zimuto Charitable Trust with support to purchase some used laptops, solar panels for power and the Zimuto Charitable Trust is in search for donations and these items including a generator. 

## **Water Supply:** 

The School Committee again has approached the Zimuto Charitable Trust asking for support to revisit the borehole site which was dug up to 60m with no water however the surveyors said the water table is at 120 metres and as such  we are appealing for funds to deepen the borehole and install solar  power to draw water. 

The school is currently communicating with the Village Elders to get a Garden near the village dam so the school can grow vegetables for the learners. 

## 04 **FINANCIAL REVIEW:** 

This is the first Financial review of the charity. Charity is UK Registered and Zimbabwe  operate  in  us  dollars.  Currently  the  School  has  three  Teachers including the Headmistress and in January 2024  there will be four Teachers and the Salaries for the Teachers are on the Charity. 

## 5. School Furniture 

The school is continuously seeking ways it can get more text books and uniforms to ensure the needs of the growing school population is met. 

## 6. Other costs: 

The School invested in drilling a borehole up to 60 metres deep and did not get any water. However, the Surveyors encouraged the school to continue on this project and that water was at 80metres deep and the school had run out of funds and have this project still to attend and will need to purchase 2 x 5000 litres tanks and solar system for this project See below the pictures  of the initial drilling which did not give water at 60m depth. The Trustees have budgeted £9,000 for completion of borehole, two tanks and solar installation which the Trustees have to seek.

## 06    STRUCTURE, GOVERNANCE & MANAGEMENT 

The Zimuto Charitable Trust is an unincorporated Trust, constituted under CIO dated 10/10/20. 

and is a Registered Charity  number 1191845. 

## Appointment of Trustees 

There must be at least 3 trustees. Apart from the first trustees, every trustee must be appointed for a term of 3 years by a resolution of the trustees passed at a special meeting. The current trustees are all founding trustees of the Charity and hold office for the following periods: 

Simon Samasuwo .......... 5 years from 2019 

Beauty Samasuwo …………4 years from  2019 

Simbarashe Maradzika :…………. 3 years from 2020 

Leornard Dende:………………………3 years from 2020. 

The current trustees all desire to see the prosperity of the School and improve lives  of  the  communities  in  its  area  of  operation.  The  Charity  has  one Zimbabwean  based  Trustee  who  foresees  all  work  done  by  the  School  and reports back to the Charity head office in UK where there are three UK based Trustees namely, Simon Samasuwo, Leonard Dende and Beauty Samasuwo. The Zimbabwe based Trustee Simbarashe Maradzika is an accountant with a number of years’ experience and is a family man. 

## Organisational Structure 

The Charity is managed in UK and in Zimbabwe as well. 

Simon Samasuwo in UK does most of the administration and communication with Simbarashe  Maradzika  who  does  most  of  the  work  in  Zimbabwe  at  the

Samasuwo Primary School. He visits the school almost three times per term ensuring the building work is done according to Local Council bye laws. 

The charity is moving to focusing more on the Samasuwo School project and upcoming Samasuwo Health Centre (Clinic).  The School is run separately from the Charity by a School committee which is comprised of Four Village Elders, one Teacher and Headmistress. The community appoints the four Village Elders. The School committee is overseen by a School Board of Directors comprising Mr Simon Samasuwo and Headmistress Mrs Judith Dube. 

## Risk Management 

The Trustees review risks which the Charity faces on a regular basis and believe that  we  have  appropriate  procedures  and  controls  to  identify  and  mitigate against risks we are exposed to.
