Oblectlves and activitie5 North Northumberland Voluntary Forum (the Forum) charitable company's oblects are:_ To promote for the publlc benefit the efficiency and effectiveness of the voluntary se¢lor in North Northumberland and surrounding areas in particular but not exclusively by.. Promoting, organising and facilitsting co-operation and partnership working between third sector, statutory and other relevant bodies in the achievement of the above purposes within the area of benefit. The directors and trustees have paid due regard lo guidan¢e issued by the Charity Commisston in deciding what activities the Forum should undertake. Achievements and p&rformance The year 2023 - 2024 saw an excellent lurnoul for the Awards Ceremony held in the Rugby Club. Berwck in September kindly supported by Bedmax Ltd. The aim of these Awards is to recognise oulslanding examples of Inspirational voluntary dedication that makes a cruc1al difference to people who need il the mosl in North Northumberland. The Berwck Voluntary Cenlre, BerwSck has been a¢lively used by a Tuesday morning Art Group. monthly Veterans Wami Hub and weekly Crafters Afternoon Tea. Other Organisalions using the Centre regularly are the Conservation Area Advisoiy Group, Tribunal Services and for various training sessions hosted by resident Organisations. Resident Organisab'ons include Northumberland Citizens Advice. Berwick and District Friends of Dementia and CYGNUS. Continuing $èrvlc&s Rural Us funding from the National Lollery ended In October 2023 and the employment of the Project Officer ceased. Weekly Craft sessions continued to be delivered until Ma¥¢h 2024. A request for future funding for Rural Us has been submitted lo the National Lollery Volunteering in North Northumberland IVINNI has funding from the Lough Fund and Community Foundaltin up unlll June 2025. Community Action Northumbedand continue lo give the Voluntary Centre £1.200 funding towards energy cost5 as the building is a registered Warrn Hub Centre. hrtemory Laners, the music-based Service for people living with dernenlia, is going from strength to strength. Further fundin9 has been re¢eived from the Ballinger Fund. Our North Northumberland Network meetings held quarterly in Village Halls throughout the NNVF area. are funded by Thriving Together. These meetings are well attended. There have been some changes in the Board of DireGlors and Trustees and we were delighted to welcome Alison Petrie and Paul Barrell to the Board. REPORTI {CONTINUED) FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 MARCH 2024 Looking forward Voluntary Awards Evening will be going ahead at the Rugby Club in September 2024 and once again supported by Bedmax Ltd. Community Transport in North Northumbefland is a new pr()jecl to be taken on by NNVF and funded by the National Lottery Fund for 3 years. A Community Transport Project Officer was appointed and commenced his role in October 2023. Funding is always a continuing issue for the Forum. Whilst our financial position is sound, there are increasing demands that we would like lo be able to support. As an organisalion we arg always looking lo bid for funding for new projects that we wish to support. Vve always look to the future in order to show that NNVF 15 a thriving organisalion in the Voluntary and Community Sector in North Northumberland. Financlal revlew The financial results of the Forum are shown on pages 6 to 20 of the financial statements for Ihe year. The Slalement of Financial Activities records 8 deficit of £21.973 {2023- £46,101 deficit} for the year. The balance of free funds al 31 March 2024 wa5 £4,315 {2023'. £13,650}. The Unrestricted Designated Fund totalled £12,311 12023.. £10,480) and represents funding designated by the directors and Iruslees for particular projects. The Restricted Fund tolalled £34,621 12023.. £49,090) and consists of donations and 9rants received for specific purposes and related expenditure. Reserves policy The directors and trLJStees have reviewed the Forum's reserves. The Forum will in due course attempt lo balance its expenditure against income derived from rents and charges. Reserves are only held to manage cash flow andlor where Specific future expenditure has been identified. 11 is the policy of the Forum that unreslri¢led funds which have not been designated for a spe¢ific use should be maintsined al a level equivalent to between three and six month's expenditure. The directors and trustees Consider that reseNes at this level will ensure that, in the event of a significant drop in funding. they will be able to continue the Fcirum's Current activities while consideration is given lo ways in which additional furids may be raised. This level of reserves has been maintained throughout the year. Rlsk management The directors and Iruslees have assessed the major risks to which the Forum Is exposed. and are satisfied that systems are in place to miligale exposure to the major iisks. Public benefit In Considering the operation. achievements and performance and finances of the Forum, the directors and trustees are satisfied that publi¢ benefit has been provided in accordance with the Charities Act 2011 and guidance provided by the Charity Commission. The members of the Forum are the current directors and trustees. Every member has one vote al general meets'ngs ot the Forum, which may be given either personally or by proxy. The business of the Forum is managed by the director5 and Iruslees, who may exercise all the powers of the Forum. The minimum number of directors and trustees is two, with no maximum limtt. The directors and trustees may appoint al any lime dire¢tor$ and trustees to fill a vacancy or as additional directors and Iruslees. Critical accounting estimates and judgements In the application of the Forum's accounting policies, the d1￿ClOr$ and trustees are required to make judgements, estimates and assumption5 about the carrying amount of assets and liabilities that are not readily apparent from other sources.
