## **FULLETBY GLEBE TRUST TRUSTEES ANNUAL REPORT** For the period: 1[st] April 2024 to 31[st] March 2025 Charity name: FULLETBY GLEBE TRUST Charity registration number: 1191832 ## **Objectives and Activities** Fulletby Glebe Trust (FGT) manages the Glebe field for the recreational benefit of the community of Fulletby and the public, as well as maintaining trees and hedges, and enhancing the wildlife habitats. ## **Summary of Main Activities** The field continues to be used as an open space, serving a similar purpose to a village green. It provides accessible space for leisure and recreational activities, including fundraising events and fetes to support the upkeep of the field itself, the parish church and other local projects such as the Henry Winn Legacy. The field is open to ramblers using the Viking Way and continues to be freely available for the health, wellbeing and the enjoyment of all. In April 2024 we spent the £400 Council Community Grant, awarded to FGT at the end of the previous reporting year, on two picnic tables. These were placed in the field in May and have been well used and appreciated by the village and other visitors. A fundraising ‘Lane Letting’ event was held in June 2024, inspired by local historical tradition, led by Belchford and Fulletby Parish Council. Generously, the council donated funds of £339 that funded the purchase of a bench for the Fulletby field. A sociable fruit auction fundraising event was held in August 2024, alongside a village community picnic. To support the village and FGT to maintain the field upkeep independently and as costeffectively as possible, the Trust has applied for a Lincolnshire Community Foundation, East Lindsey ‘Investment Fund [ELIF] GrassRoots Grant. The grant application includes a request for funding towards the purchase of a suitable lawn mower, for operational volunteer use. This is not only to maintain both the appearance of and accessibility to the field for all, but also to give financial independence from the current costs of out-sourcing grass cutting. The grant application also requests funds towards the purchase of a gazebo, to provide shelter and a focal point for community gatherings, a gate to improve and maintain safe access to the field, while preserving the integrity of the boundary and hedges, and an information lectern, to display environmental heritage information. The Grant application outcome is pending later in April 2025. 1 As part of our continued efforts to maintain and improve the condition of the field, we have launched a ‘Friends of FGT’ scheme aimed at inviting local donations. Funds raised through this scheme will contribute directly to the ongoing upkeep of the field, including but not limited to grass cutting, general grounds maintenance and minor improvements to enhance the useability and appearance of the field. ## **Contribution by Volunteers** The Trustee membership is composed of Fulletby villagers who have volunteered their time and service. Operational maintenance of the field is managed by the Field Management Group (FMG), consisting of two of the FGT Trustees and associate volunteer members. ## **Achievements and Performance** FGT has ensured the necessary purchase of public liability insurance has been made using funds held by the charity. Funds for such expenses has been raised by holding a raffle at social events, and small financial denotations. The field has been maintained by operational volunteers. The grass has been cut regularly through the growing season, using an outside source that incurs a cost. Fulletby Glebe Field is the only public communal outdoor space for the village of Fulletby. It has continued to be used freely by the local community for recreational purposes, fundraising events and social gatherings. ## **Financial Review** Cash reserves at the period end are £579.90. Of this £410 is earmarked for banking costs, maintenance costs and insurance. The Trustees’ policy is to hold reserves of at least £500 to cover ongoing costs. ## **Structure, Governance and Management** The Trust is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation [CIO] Foundation Constitution registered with and regulated by the Charity Commission. Trustees will be elected from the residents of the village of Fulletby. The trustees confirm that they have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit.
