Objectives and Activities
To manage Fulletby Glebe field for the recreational benefit of the community and the public, as well as maintaining trees and hedges, and enhancing the wildlife habitats.
The field is used as a village green, and for fundraising events and fetes to support the upkeep of the field itself, the parish church and other local projects such as the Henry Winn Legacy. It is open to ramblers using the Viking Way land and continues to be freely available for the health, wellbeing, and the enjoyment of all. Operational maintenance of the field is undertaken by a management group consisting of all FGT Trustees and associate volunteers from the community.
The trustees confirm that they have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit.
Achievements and Performance
Fulletby Glebe Field has continued to be used freely by the local community for recreational purposes. The necessary purchase of public liability insurance has been made using funds held by the charity. Funds for such expenses have been raised by holding a raffle at social events. The litter bin, supplied, and maintained by East Lindsey District Council, continues to serve a valuable function.
A social picnic event was held in honour of HRH King Charles’ Coronation in May 2023, on the field. The sun shone and children’s games and activities were enjoyed by both Fulletby and local villagers, family, and friends. A local group of military enthusiasts shared a display of vintage vehicles and memorabilia, which was enjoyed by adults and children alike.
The field has been maintained and the grass cut regularly through the growing season. A raffle held during the Coronation event contributed towards such management costs.
Hedge Laying was begun, with the support of The Wolds Countryside Service, in December 2023 by a group of volunteers. Unfortunately, snow stopped play until it could be recommenced two months later in February of this year. This activity gave community members the opportunity to engage, learn and practice hedge laying skills, as well as contributing to the maintenance of the hedge.
A Council Community Grant was kindly supported by East Lindsey District Council’s Councillors Community Grant Scheme; we thank Daniel Simpson for support in the

application. The award of £400 will be used for the purchase of two robust picnic benches to be sited on the field, for use by all.
Financial Review
Cash reserves at the period end are £1,111.98. Of this, £400 is earmarked for the purchase of the two picnic benches. Over half of the remainder will be needed for maintenance and public liability insurance. The Trustees’ policy is to hold reserves of at least £500 to cover ongoing maintenance costs and insurance so further fundraising is to be undertaken in 2024.
Structure, Governance and Management
The Trust is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation [CIO]. The Foundation Constitution is registered with and regulated by the Charity Commission. Trustees are to be elected from the residents of the village of Fulletby.
The Trustees have reviewed our procedures on internal financial controls, financial reserves, risk management, trustee expenses and conflicts of interest, and serious incident reporting.
