## **Trustees' Annual Report for Forward Movement**

## 1. Introduction 

The trustees present their annual report for Forward Movement for the financial year ending 2023. During this period, the charity did not undertake any trading or operational activities and received no funding. The organisation was placed on hold to focus on restructuring and improving governance, operations, and long-term strategy.  We had one trustee step down so we are left with 2. 

## 2. Objectives and Activities 

Forward Movement’s charitable objectives are: 

## **OBJECTIVES:** 

The incorporation of Forward Movement is intended to: 

- provide education within the performing arts, media and to promote training opportunities centred around facilitating entertainment production, thereby providing young people,  including super diverse students, who are primarily from the age range of 12-25 with advanced skills.   This will be achieved by providing information, knowledge, training and  advice. 

-  provide assistance to the students on the carrying out of research necessary for successful productions and to enable collective knowledge and understanding of specific areas of  study and expertise including the mastering of different types of music, dance, and  participation in different art forms. This will include the development of individual  capabilities, competences, skills and understanding. 

Workshops and individually focused  lessons will be provided and assistance to facilitate live events to enable the students to  produce and showcase their final projects. 

- instruct the students in the physical education and development needed to be fit enough for  the various productions and performances 

- provide training (including alternative vocational training) and life-long learning.  This will  include money management, recording of income and expenses, personal survival budgets  etc. 

All of the above are necessary in the provision of skills to enable future employment, either in the entertainment world or in another channel. 

Activities during the year: 

No activities were undertaken this financial year, as trustees prioritised reviewing internal processes, policies, and operational frameworks to strengthen the charity’s future effectiveness. Both trustees have had family loses which has put a delay on the movement of the charity, but in the near future we will employ and start our projects with the community. 

## 3. Achievements and Performance 

Given the decision to pause operations, there are no quantifiable achievements to report for this financial year. Trustees focused on: 

- Conducting a strategic review of governance and operational practices. 

- Developing plans to relaunch activities once improvements are finalised. 

- Ensuring compliance with regulatory obligations during the hiatus. 



## 4. Financial Review 

Financial position: 

- The charity received no income during the year. 

- No expenditure was incurred. 

## 5. Structure, Governance, and Management Trustees: 

The charity is managed by 2 trustees, who met 6 times during the year to oversee the operational review. 

Decision to pause operations: 

This was agreed unanimously by trustees to ensure long-term sustainability. All decisions were made in accordance with the charity’s governing document. 

## 6. Plans for the Future 

Trustees intend to resume activities once operational improvements are completed. Key next steps include: 

- Finalising updated governance policies. 

- Securing funding or partnerships to support relaunch. 

- Developing a revised strategy to deliver our charitable objectives effectively.
