York Late Music CIO was established under its toftstitution on 15 October 2020, immediately taklng
over all ofthe activities of its predecessor. Soundpool-a charity created by a Declaratlon of Trust
dated 26August 1997 and reglstered as a charityon 28 Mafch 1998 bythe charitycommi5s10n.
Soundpool ceased acttvities andis recorded as a Remo¥ed Charlty on the Charitycommissions
website. Soundpool's funds are recorded as beingtransfrrred tothe Cloon 19July2923. The newCIO
ha5 ta ken over all otthe activities of the ori8inal trtssl.

the promotion ofconcerts and workshops.

The York Late Music 2022-23 concert serles delivered all the proposed nine evening concerts plus
elght lunchtime recitals. IPerformers Intluded: Delta Saxophone tyartet. Iva na Peranic Icellol a nd
Rachel Fryer Ipia nol. Elysla n Slngers. Federlco Pendenza Iguitaf) and the Res01 Strlng Quartet.
Commlssloned composers Included Hayleyjenkins, Christopher Fox and Nicola LeFanu.I In
pa rtnership with York Arts Education we included a successful education outreach prolect of 30
Schoollyoung people's workshops culminating in a concert recltal on Saturday 20 May 2023 at
Mlllthorpe School in York. We continued our partnership with the Music Department at York St John
Unlver51ty. There weTe two suceesslul 8raduate ¢omp05itlon workshops.. Lapins. Frlday 3 February
2023 a nd Ivana Peranlclcellol and Rachel Fryer IplanoL Frlday 31 March 2023. The student
Compositlons er rehearsed, recorded and selected pleces performed at the YLM concerts.
Other partnerships included working with the Music Department at the Univer51ty ofyork in
promoting a nd sUPPOrtlngeach other's concerts and events as well as the York Festival of Ideas.

The financia I statements for the year shows income £33.604 and total expenditure of £32,258, 8ivin8
surplus for the year o1£1.346.
Funding provided by our sponsor5 is often fr)r periods which do not match our accountlng perlod. Such
fundlng is carried forward as a reserve, which is rellected in YLM'S bank bala nce.
The comparative figures in thls yearf5 accounts have been correctedtoshowgrant income on
proper'recelpts, basls for the purposes of these accounts.

The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The charlty's trustees
consider that an audit is r￿t required for this period under section 144 of the Chariiies Att 2011 (the
2011 Actl and that an Independent eMaminatTron is needed.
It is my responsibiltty to:
examine the accounts (under section 145 of the 2011 ACL as amended):
to follow the procedures laid down in the General Direcilons glveft by the Charity Commlsslon
under section 14515llbl of the 2011 ACL as amended). and
to state whether partitulaf matters have come to my attention.
