2 Accounting policles
Summary ol slgnificant accountlng policies and key accounting estimates
The principal accounting policies applied in the preparation of these financial statements are set out
below. These policies have been consistently applied to all the years presented, unless otherwise
stsled.
Statement of compliance
The financial slalemenls have been prepared in accordance with Accounting and Reporting by
Charities.. Statement of Recommended Practice lapplicable to charities preparing their accounts in
accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland IFRS
102)) li5sued in October 20191 (Charities SORP IFRS 10211, the Finan¢ial Reporting Standard
applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland IFRS 1021 and the Companies Act 2006.
Basis of preparation

initially recognised at historical cost or transaction value unless otherwise staled in the relevant
accounting policy notes.
The financial statements are prepared in sterling, which is the functional currency of the entity.
Golng concern
The trustees consider that there are no material uncertainties about the charity's ability to continue as
a going con￿rn nor any signifiGanl areas of uncertainty that affect the carrying value of assets held by
the charity.
Judgements and key sources of estimation uncertainty
The preparation of the financial slalemenls requires management to make judgements, estimates and
assumptions that affect the amount5 reported. These estimates and judgements are continually
reviewed and are based on experience and other factors, including expectation5 of future events that
are believed to be reasonable under the circumstances.

Notes to the Financial Statements for the Year Ended S April 2024
Income and endowments
All income is included in the statement of financial activities when enlitlemenl has passed to the
charity, it is probably that the economic benefits associated with the Iransa¢tion will flow to the charity
and the amount can be measured reliably. The following specific policie5 are applied to particular
categories of ineome..
Donations and legacies
income from donations or grants is recognised when there is evidence of enlitlemenl lo the gift,
receipt is probable and ils amount can be measured reliably.
Gift aid
Incoming resourees from lax reclaims are included in the Slalemenl of Financial Acbvities at the same
time as the gift to which they relate.
Investment income
Dividends are recognised once the dividend has been declared and notification has been received of
the dividend due.
Expenditure
Expenditure is recognised on an accruals basis as a liability is incurred. Expenditure includes any
VAT which cannot be fully recovered, and is classified under headings of the statement of finanaal
activities to which il relates as described below..
Raising funds
These are costs incurred in attracting voluntary income, the management of investments and those
inCUr￿d in trading activities that raise funds.
Charitable activities
Charitable expenditure comprises those costs incurred by the charity in the delivery of its activities
and services for its beneficiaries. It includes both costs that can be allocated directiy to such activities
and those costs of an indirect nature necessary to support them.
Taxation
The charity is considered lo pass the tests sel out in Paragraph 1 Schedule 6 of the Finance Act 2010
and therefore it meets the definition of a charitable company for UK Corporation tax purposes.
A￿ordinglY. the charity is potentially exempt from laxalion in respect of income or capital gains
ceived within categories covered by Chapter 3 Part 11 of the Corporation Tax Act 2010 or Section
256 of the Taxation of Chargeable Gains Act 1992. to the extent that such income or gains are
applied exclusively to charitable purposes.
Tangible fixed assets
Individual fixed assets costing £100.00 or more are initially recorded 8t cost, less any subsequent
accvmulaled depreciation and subsequent accumulated impairment losses. Any tangible assets
carried al revalued amounts are recorded al the lair value al the date of revaluation less any
subsequent accumulated depreciation and subsequent accumulated impairment losse5.
Page 10

The CPF Trust
Notes to the Financial Statements for the Year Ended 5 April 2024
An increase in the carrying amount of an a55et a5 a re5uII of a revaluation, is recognised in other
recognised gains and losses, unless it reverses a charge for impairment that has previously been
recognised as expenditure within the statement of financial activities. A decrease in the carrying
amount of an asset as 8 result of revaluation, 15 recognised in other recognised gains and 105ses,
except to which it offsets any previous revaluation gain, in which case the loss is shown within other
recognised gains and losses on the slalemenl of financial activities.
Impainnent of fixed assets
A review for indiealors Df Impairment is carried out at each repO￿.￿g date, with the recoverable
amount being estimated where such indicators exist. Where the Garrying value exceeds the
recoverable amount, the asset is impaired accordingly. Prior impairments are also reviewed for
possible reversal at each reporbng dale.
For the purposes of impairment testing, when it 15 not possible lo estimate the recoverable amount of
an individual asset, an estimate is made of the recoverable amount of the cash-generatsng unit lo
which the asset belongs. The cash-generating unil is the smallest identifiable group of assets that
include5 the asset and generates cash inflows that are largely independent of the cash flows from
other assets or groups of assets.
Fixed asset Investments
Unlisted equity investments are initially recorded at cost, and subsequently measured at fair value. If
fair value cannot be reliably measured, assets are measured al cost less impairment.
Listed investments are measured al fair value. with changes in fair value being recggni%d in income
or expenditure.
Cash and cash equivalents
C?sh and cash equivalents comprise cash on hand and call deposits, and other short-term highly
liquid investments that are readily convertible lo a known amount of cash and are subject to an
insignifiGanl risk of change in value.
Fund structure
Unreslricled income funds are general funds that are available for use al the trustees discretion in
fijrtherance of the objectives of the charity.
