## **TRUSTEES REPORT** 

It has been another year of quiet progress. The focus of our effort continues to be the collection and submission of DNA samples from dogs affected by Vizsla Inflammatory Polymyopathy (VIP) - and their close relatives. We have been particularly pleased to have worked closely with the owners and breeders of newly diagnosed dogs in Germany – where VIP is not well recognised. Good channels of communication have been established and our understanding of VIP distribution in European dogs has been significantly added to. 

Here in the UK, we continue to monitor the incidence and prevalence not just of VIP – but also of the other serious diseases affecting the vizsla. Of especial concern are epilepsy, early onset cancers (haemangiosarcoma particularly) and Immune Mediated Illnesses 

In line with the Trust’s constitutional objective of providing independent advocacy we continue to disseminate accurate and up to date information on these serious health problems. Effort is targeted especially on breeders – to help them make balanced decisions – with health a priority.

charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended 31 October 2025
