people partcularly but not exclusively older men, within West
Somerset and the surrounding area, from becoming socially
excluded, relieving the needs of those people who are socially

provision of facilites in which they can meet jointly or individually
to undertake creatve, physical or recreatonal actvites, learn or
pass on skills and knowledge and support each other socially.
For the purpose of this clause 'socially excluded' means being
excluded from society, or parts of society, as a result of one of
more of the following factors: unemployment; fnancial hardship;

whole.|Actvites on the frst partton brought further support successes
and a second partton was commissioned in late summer to
provide a triple space environment whereby separate machinery
and hand working areas along with a distnct social area, fully
accessible and screened from noise and dust could be created.
The designs maintain visibility of all actvites throughout the Shed
enabling members and visitors to socialise and be part of the
actvites whilst maintaining Health and Safety. Members reported
the result enhanced the open, inclusive and safe environment we
strive to provide.
Shed membership has grown during the year, although not as fast
as we were hoping. However, contnuing eforts in the wider
community had raised awareness of the Shed and brought
growing interest in the later part of the year.
We noted an increasing trend of repair and renovaton requests
from our local community which indicated word was getng
around. This trend has provided growth both in monetary and
equipment donatons. The Shed also atended a number of craf
fairs and events during the year, primarily to demonstrate and
promote the Shed’s actvites and the wider benefts of shedding.
Several community commissions were completed including a
partnership actvity to produce raised garden beds for the
Minehead Methodist Church Community Garden project.
Our AGM in April ’25 provided the opportunity to grow our
Trustee capacity whereby three new Trustees with disparate skills
were appointed to contribute to our growth and sustainability
plans.
The three sessions each week have become well established,and| members are assessing the potential of opening more sessions with a wider provision offer. The project is in the planning phase, but interest was most encouraging. We have commenced the training of additional Sesson Supervisors to cover this growth. There was still more work to do to establish the Shed and its sustainability in our community, it was reported but work throughout the year has clarified the direction we need to take and the priorities we need to apply. These now form the core of the Shed’s strategy going forward. Our expectation of being in a cashflow positive situation without the need for external operational funding input during year ‘24/’25 was achieved. Our unrestricted income (excluding grants etc) was approximately £1300 in excess of operational costs. Lease costs were subject to retrospective inflationary increases (known by Trustees but delayed by landlord’s restructuring). **Income**for the year was £9985 being £3700 in grants and £6285
from shed sessions, membership fees, donatons and commissions
from supporters of the shed.
**Expenses**for the year were £7178 relatng to our fnal project,
some second fx elements, renovatng machinery, another
signifcant increase in insurance costs and fnal work in providing
materials and consumables to enable actvites to contnue. They

Whilst maintaining a close eye on income and the fnal spend
down of capital (restricted) funding it was noted that a positve
cashfow occurred and the Shed was generatng a small but
growing cash surplus to eventually support growth.
A bank balance of £6757 (with no outstanding creditors) was
carried forward into the next fnancial year, of which approx. £870
