STRUCTURE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT

Board of Trustees

The Board of Trustees sets our future aims and priorities focusing on strategic planning and governance and also evaluates our performance and progress in our work to alleviate poverty and suffering.

The Board of Trustees appraises the Senior Management Team and can make appointments to it as well as dismissals. The Board of Trustees also make sure that we satisfy the regulatory requirements on us as a charity and works with key stakeholders.

Recruiting and Appointing Trustees

All our trustees are volunteer, chosen because they all have the diverse range of skills, knowledge and experience that we need to respond to the challenges of today. Stakeholders and partners may nominate trustees and sometimes we will make a personal approach to potential candidates.

Governing document

Siddiqiyah Soharwardiyah Trust refers to the charity incorporated organisation with a governing document known as CIO Foundation originally incorporated on 09 October 2020.

Responsibilities of Trustees

The annual report and financial statements are prepared according to the relevant law and approved by the trustees.

The trustees keep adequate accounting records and they show and explain our transactions. The records also disclose our financial position with reasonable accuracy at any time and enable trustees to ensure that the financial statements comply with Charity Commission Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP) 2015.

Grant Making Policies

We provide grants to projects if the request meets our charitable objectives and criteria. Project grant making is managed according to a designated process, which is documented in our Operational Risk-Management Framework. We aim to treat all grant applications professionally, equally and fairly. We make the final decision as to eligibility to receive a grant, at our discretion.

Public Benefit

We develop strategic plans to make certain that we provide maximum public benefit and achieve our strategic objectives, which fall under purposes defined by the Charity Act 2006.

Objectives and Strategic activities

The objects of the charity are set below:

A) THE PREVENTION OR RELIEF OF POVERTY OR FINANCIAL HARDSHIP ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD BY: * SUPPORTING VICTIMS OF NATURAL OR OTHER KINDS OF DISASTER IN THE FORM OF MONEY (OR OTHER MEANS DEEMED SUITABLE) FOR PERSONS, BODIES, ORGANISATIONS AND/OR COUNTRIES AFFECTED INCLUDING THE PROVISION OF MEDICAL AID; * PROVIDING OR ASSISTING IN THE PROVISION OF PROJECTS IN PARTICULAR, BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY, TO PROVIDE ACCESS TO SAFE WATER AND SANITATION, HEALTHCARE, ESSENTIAL FOOD SUPPLIES AND OTHER BASIC SUPPLIES TO THOSE WHO CANNOT AFFORD THEM. B) TO ADVANCE THE ISLAMIC RELIGION IN THE UNITED KINGDOM AND THE WORLD FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PUBLIC THROUGH THE HOLDING OF MEETINGS, LECTURES, PUBLIC CELEBRATION OF RELIGIOUS FESTIVALS, PRODUCING AND/OR DISTRIBUTING LITERATURE ON AND TO ENLIGHTEN OTHERS ABOUT THE ISLAMIC RELIGION.

Achievements and Performance

Electric Water pump

Water is necessity in life. More than 1.1 billion people worldwide continue to face the challenge of lacking regular access to clean water. This dire situation forces them to consume unsafe water and live without basic sanitation, resulting in a devastating toll of over 2000 children losing their lives each day due to contaminated water.

Siddiqiyah Soharwardiyah Trust helps in providing clean water sources to vulnerable families and protecting them from deadly diseases.

Providing Business to Poor people

Siddiqiyah Soharwardiyah Trust assists poor families and individuals to help them break out of the cycle of poverty by helping them set-up small businesses. Some of these efforts include:

Qurbani

Siddiqiyah Soharwardiyah Trust offers convenient online Qurbani booking services for donors. This year, Siddiqiyah Soharwardiyah Trust is committed to providing Qurbani meat to those in need, where starvation is prevalent.

Feeding people in the month of Ramadan

Food is a basic necessity for survival and also the key to a healthy life. Without regular healthy meals children struggle to go to school, carers struggle to work and communities are left battling to survive.

In Ramadan, Siddiqiyah Soharwardiyah Trust provided families with urgent food to ensure they are able to have iftaar with a nutritious meal. Our Ramadan food parcel ensured a family has enough food during the month of Ramadan.

Filtration plant for the Mosque

Pakistan Rural Communities suffer the most from unhygienic contaminated water. Therefore, in order to phase out this water crisis, Siddiqiyah Soharwardiyah Trust have installed water filtration plants in under privileged areas throughout Pakistan.

These plants make the use complex technology to comprehensively clean and de-contaminate unclean and unsafe water, the result of which is clean and safe drinking water. The donations made for water filtration plants helps to change lives in communities in Pakistan and your donation helps us to provide thousands of people glass of water they deserve as their basic right being human being.

Feeding People Weekly

Siddiqiyah Soharwardiyah Trust is providing a fresh and wholesome weekly meal to

underprivileged families. Kitchen menu consists of fresh seasonal vegetables, beans, daals (lentils) and meat curry.

From sustainable solutions to help lift communities out of poverty, to food packs and urgent meal deliveries, our global projects team is committed to finding the best solutions in the areas we work to ensure we’re reaching, and feeding as many people as possible with your Sadaqah and Zakat.

Financial Review

The charity received sum of £19,011 in donations from various sources. The charity does not have any reserve policy. No funds are in deficit at the balance sheet. The funds are in surplus by £32,919 at the balance sheet.
