## **1. Introduction** 

## **1.1 Charitable Objects** 

The objects of the CIO are (1) to promote for the benefit of the inhabitants of Telford and Wrekin and the surrounding area the provision of facilities for recreation or other leisure time occupation of individuals who have need of such facilities by reason of their youth, age, infirmity or disablement, financial hardship or social and economic circumstances or for the public at large in the interests of social welfare and with the object of improving the condition of life of the said inhabitants. 

## **1.2 Overview (Executive Summary)** 

During this period we were setting up in a temporary space, prior to moving into our second set of premises. During this time did run several public workshops to help people develop additional skills. These included: 

- Pallet wood workshop 

- Learn to solder 

- Stop-motion animation 

- And various other outreach projects in a local community centre 

We also ran several fundraising activities to help local schools, hospitals and additional external charities. 

- £400 toy shopping spree in B&M for their in-house Red Robin charity via a donation 

- £400 toy shopping spree in B&M for the Princess Royal hospital in association with Cash Providers 

- £800 providing 80 £10 All4One vouchers to be placed in disadvantaged children’s Christmas food parcels in association with Telford Priory school 

## **2. Activities & Achievements** 

## **2.1 Outputs & Outcomes** 

Listed above. We also provided a social aspect to neurodiverse individuals to help with social isolation post-Covid 

## **2.2 Policies on Grant-Making and/or Social Investments** 

The charity does not make any grants or make social or programme-related investments. 

## **2.3 The Roles & Contributions of Volunteers** 

The volunteers have helped the Makerspace with decorating and renovating the building we were in and helping run the space. They have also donated equipment. They have also aided the Trustees in the running of the charity.

## **2.4 How the Public Have Benefitted** 

Within this period we have run a number of social projects to help the local community such as; 

- Providing £1,600 to Christmas 2021 for kids, schools and hospitals post-Covid 

- Provide an online community to support a range of makers, with neurodiverse conditions and social inclusion 

- Community training with practical skills, knowledge hub proving tools, equipment and expertise in helping to make creative activities 

## **2.5 Performance (Meeting Targets)** 

Regular meeting with the trustees to discuss the progress of the charity. Run in an AGILE method. 

## **2.6 Looking Ahead** 

Currently we do not have a useable space to run the activities we would like to. The Makerspace is currently looking into local buildings that can be utilised. 

## **3. Financial Review** 

## **3.1 Financial Position** 

Within the date range of (07/10/2020 to 01/04/2022) income Amount was: £4,940 with the outgoings of £4,146. 

Constant cash flow of £2,473 est from membership fees, others being Grants, fund raisers and donations. saving for future premises. 

## **3.2 Details of Any Funds Materially in Deficit** 

The Charity has no funds which are materially in deficit. 

## **3.3 Policy on Reserves** 

Current charity policy is being created as no need for one pre this review. 

## **3.4 Principal Sources of Funding** 

Detailed in 3.1,

No current investment made of financial nature.

## **3.6 Description of the Principal Risks Facing the Charity** 

The charity relies on the factors below where if falls below stated threshold will cause for the charity to close. 

- Members as the purpose of the charity is to create an environment for inclusion, thus without a paying member group of 7 no main financial income and will fall short of outgoings. 

- No grants or donation, in where subsidising fees to allow persons of limited finance to participate. 

- Not having an open usable premises for longer then 2 years, as will affect membership numbers. (Excluding Covid shutdowns) 

- Without premises storage of current equipment is needed linked to funds. 

- Fund, if any unforeseen outgoing cost, or lake of income should arise in where the threshold is below £500 in accessible fund, shut down procedures will take place and remaining funds used to close of charity. 

## **3.7 Remuneration of Trustees** 

All Trustees act in a voluntary capacity and receive no remuneration or other material benefits from their services to the Charity. 

Out-of-pocket expenses necessarily and reasonably incurred by Trustees in promoting the purposes of the Charity are reimbursed at cost. 

## **3.8 Statutory Statements on Liabilities** 

The Trustees declare that: 

The charity has given no guarantees where potential liability under the guarantee is outstanding at the date of this statement 

The charity has no debt outstanding at the date of this statement which is owed by the CIO and which is secured by an express charge on any assets of the CIO

The Trustees confirm that they have paid due regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit in deciding what activities the charity should undertake.

In accordance with the Constitution, Trustees are appointed or re-appointed for a term of three years by a resolution passed at a properly convened meeting of the charity trustees.
