The trustees present their annual repDrt and financial statements for the year ènded 31 August 2025.
The financial statements have been p￿pared in 8¢¢ordance wth the accounting policies sel out in note 1 to the
financial ststements and comply with the charity's governitEg documer)I the Charities Act 20113nd "Accounting and
Reporting by Charities.. Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to Gharilies preparing their accounls in
accordance Mth the Financial Reporting Slandafd applicable in the UK and R￿p￿blIC of Ireland IFRS
1021" (effective 1 January 20191.
Objectives and actÈvities
The objects of the charity are lo advan¢e the Èducation of bDys and girts by way of providing bursary awards subject
to p8rènt81 means lesling, thereby w"Klening a￿sS lo AKS Lylham, and lo improve the Fnfraslructure of AKS
Lytham or such other area of benefrt within which the charity trustees decide tl) benefit.
Public benefit
The trustees have paid due regard to guidance issued by the Charity Commission in deciding what actsvitse5 the
charity should undertake.
Activities
The period from 1 sl September 2024 10 31st August 2025 marked the second full active year for the AKS Lytham
Foundation . During the year, the Development OffKe merged with the Markeling Department to form the Marketing
and Oevelopmenl offi￿ at AKS. This strategic development has slien9lhened the profile of the Foundation w(thin
the wider schoDI commun¢ty and positioned the ¢harity more centrally wilhin the SGhools Gommunications,
engagement and long-term development stiategy.
The integration of these ￿nctiOnS has enabled contsnued progress in raising awarènèss of the foundatson,
51rellglhening engagement with alumni and the wider AKS comwnunily, and developing relationships wth
prospective donors and supporteis in support of the Foundation's charitable objectives.
A key milestone during the year was the ¢onlinued support of ihe Foundation's first cohort of fully funded, means-
tested bursary students. who are now in their final year of A-Level study. In addition, the Foundation was delighted
to welcome two further Foundation Bursary students in September 2025, with one joining the Senior Sthool Year
10 and one entering the Sixth ForFn, These apwinlmenls represent a significalll slep fonNard in widening access to
an AKS education for talented students bvho Would not olheTwise have the opportunity to attend the school.
The year has a150 seen important progress in developing the long-letm sustsinabilily of the Foundab'on. Th&
Trustees have consideied fLSture funding strategies, including the developmènt of restricted and inveslment-baseLI
bursary funds designed to support transformatsonal bursaries foT future generations.
Throughout 2024-2025, the principal focus has l)een on strengthening internal capacity, establishing robust
development and engagement processes, and increasing alumni and commtjnily involvement, rather than
con￿ntralIn9 solely on Tnajor fundraising campaigns. This work has laid import8nt foundations for fLrture fundraising
growth and ihe continued expansÈon ol the Foundation's bursary prowsion.
The Foundation also continued to develop the "Change Their World. campaign, induding the launch preparations
for the Game Changer inilialNe, which aims Its provide fully funded, means-lesled bursaries for talented young
athletes through phllanlhropic supptyt.

Flnancial review
The charity has received donations and carried out fund raising events during the year. During the yeai, bursaries
were granted and after minimal overhead expenditure, the surplu5 fof the year amounted lo £10,499 12024..
£76,419). The reserves carried fO￿ard to next year are £143.959 {2024.' £133,460), comprising unrestricted funds
of £55,583 and reslricled funds of £88,376.
Reserves pollcy
11 is the policy of the chaiity that unreslricled ftJnd8 which have not l)een designated for a specific use shoukj be
maintained at a level equivalent lo between three and six month's expènditure_ The trustees considei that reserves
al Ihis level will ensure that, in thè event of a significant drop in funding, they wsll be able lo umlinue the charty's
Currenl activtties while consideration is given to ways in which additional fijnds may be raised. This level of reserves
has been maintained throughout the ye8r.
Plans for future periods
Since Fts formal launch on 5th May 2023, the Fouridalion has raised £261,173 for the Change Their Worfd
transformational bursary fund.
Through the Change Their Wortd BursaryAppeal the Foundation's first goal is to raise funds for 10 tsansformational
bursarFes, allowing talented ¢hildren trom disadvanlaged b8ckgrounds the opportunity lo join AKS Lytham from
Senior Schoot lo Sixlh Form (ages 11 10 18}.
Recognising firtancial pressures on local disadvantsged commun((ies, AKS aims to identify talented, local children
whose lives could be positively transtormed by accessing education al Ihe school.
Alongside the Change Their Wortd Bursary Appeal. the Foundation will continue lo comfftunicale ils longel-lerm
vision to supporters. including aspiratsons lo continue towards ftjlure facility Llevelopmenls and wder educational
enhancements al AKS, where these align wth Ihe eharilablè objectives of the Foundation.
In September 2026, the Foundation also plans lo launch the Gamechanger Catnpatgn, 8 targeted fundraising
iniliab.ve forming part of the wider change Their INodd mission. The campaign will focus Specifi￿lty on funding fully
supported, means-lesled bursaries for talented young athletes, enabling students lo develop and excel both
academically and through sport.
Structure. governance and management
The charity was established 5 October 2020 and 15 a charit8blè incorporated organisalion.
To achieve the objects, coiisiderable income must be generated. The chartty does not itself raise funds., rather this
is the responsibility of AKS Lyth8m IAKSI, who will aim lo achieve this by generating donations lo the rhafty from
alumni and other supporters of AKS and also seeking grant ftsnding opporlunilies through the Development Office at
AKS.
The charity trustees mel th￿e times during the year. to receive progress reports from AKS on their work to enhance
the development activities and to deal w*th slalulory matters.

AKS Lytham Foundation is a charitable incorporated organisalion.
1.1 Basis of preparatlort
The financial statements have been prepa￿d in accordance with the charity's goveming document. Ihe
Charities Act 2011, FRS 102 "The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland"
and thé Charities SORP "Accounting and Reporbng by Charities.. Stslemenl of Recommended Pracli¢e
applicable lo charities preparing their aG¢ounls iri accoidants with the Financial Reporting Standard
appliGable the UK and Republi¢ of Iraland (FRS 1021" The charity is a Public Benefit Entity as defined by
FRS 102.
The charity has taken advantage of the provisions in the SORP for charities not to prepare a 51al4nènl ol
¢ash flows.
The financial statements have departed from the Charities (Accounts and Reports} Regulations 2008 only to
the extent required to provÉde a truè and fair view. This departure has involved lollowÈng the Slalemenl of
Recommended Praclice for chaTilies applying FRS 102 rather than the veision of the Slalement of
Recommended Practsce which is referred lo in the Regulations but which has since been WEthdrawn.
The financial $lal8ments are prepared in 51erfing, which is Ihe functional currency of the charity- Monetary
amounts in these financial statements are Toundèd to the nearest £.
The financial slalemenls have been prepared under the historical cost convention. The principal accounting
poticies adopted are set out below.
1.2 Going con¢ern
At the time of approving the finaricial slatemen15, the Iruslees have a reasonable expeci8tion that the charlty
has adequate resources to continue in oper81ional e￿StenCe fof the foreseeable future. Thus the trustees
continue to adopt the going concem basis of aGcounting in preparing the financial slatèm&nts.
1.3 Charitable funds
Unrestricted funds are available for use al the discretion of the truslees in furtherance of their charitable
objectives.
Resliicted funds are subject to specifK conditions by donois or grantors as to how they may be used. The
purp05es and uses of the reslri¢led funds are set out in the noles to the financial statements.
1.4 Income
Income is rÈcognised when the charity is legally entitled to il after any performance conditions have been met.
the amounts Can be measured ￿lIablY, and il is probable that income will be re￿1ve￿.
Cash donations are re¢ognised on receipt. Other donations are recognised once the charity has ￿en notified
of the donation, unless perf0mlan￿ condition8 requi￿ deferral of the amount. Income lax recoverable in
relation to donations received under Gift Ald or deeds of covenant is recognised at the lima of the donation.
Legacles are re￿gnised on receipt 01 otherwise if the charity has been notified of an impending dk%lTsbution,
the amount is known, and receipt is expeGted. If the amount is not known, the leg8Cy IS treated as
contingent asset.

1.5 Expendlture
Expenditure is recognised On￿ there is a legal or conslruct5ve obligation to Iransfer economic benefit lo a

Expendilure is classified by activity. The ¢0sls Of e8¢h a¢livity are madé up of the total of d￿r￿t costs and
shared costs, including support costs involved in undertaking each a¢livily. Direct Costs attribtjtable to a single
activity are allocated directly lo that activity. Shared costs whith Gonlribule to mgre than one activity and
support costs which are not attTibulJble lo a single a¢l¢vity are 8PPOrtioned belween those activities on a basis
consistent the use of re50ufGes. Central staff costs are aSk>¢aled Dn the basis of lime spent, and
depreciation Charges are allocated on the portion of the asset's use.
1.6 Cash and cash equlvalents
Cash ar￿ cash equivalents include cash in hand, depostts held at call with banks, other short-temi liquid
investments with original maturities of three months or less, and bank ovefLlrafts. Bank overdrafts are shown
within borrowings in current liabilities.
1.7 Financlal Instruments
The ¢harity has elecied lo apply the provI￿onS of Section 11 'Basic Financlal InstrLtmerFls' and Section 12
'Olher FinanGial Instruments Issues, of FRS 102 to all of ils financial instruments.
Financial instrumenls are recognised in the charity's balance sheet when the charity becomes party to the
contractual provisions of the inslrurnenl.
Financial assets and liabilities are offset, with the nel amounts presenlecl in the financlal slalements, when
Ihere is a legally enforceable right lo sel otf the recognised amoL¢nts and there 18 ari intention lo setNe on a net
basis or lo realise the asset and settle the liabtlity simultaneously.
Basic fiTnancial assets
Basic financial assets. which include debtors and cash and bank balances, are initially measured a
transaction price including transaction costs and are subsequently carried al amorlised cost usin9 the effective
interest method unless the arrangement constitutes a financing Iransaclion, where the transaction is
measured al the present value of the future receipts discounled al a market rale of interest. Financial assets
¢lass¢fièd as receivable within one year are not amortised.
Basic financial liabllities
Basic finan¢ial liabilities, including creditors and bank loans are init¢ally recogrsised at transaction price unless
the arrangemerrt ¢onslitules a financing transaction, where the debt instrument is meastjred at the present
valtje of the future payments discounted al a market rate of interest. Financial liabilities classified as payable
w¢thin one year are not amortised.
Debt instrnmenls are subsequently carried 8t amortiseis cost, using the effective inl&resl rate method.
Trade credilofs are obligations to pay for goods or services that have been acquired in the ordinary course of
operations from suppliers. Amounts payable are classified as currènt liabilttias if payment is due within one
year or less. If nol. they are presented as non-Gurrenl liabilities. Trade ¢redilors are re¢D9nised initially at
transaction price and subsequently measured at 8mortisèd cost using thè effective interest method.

Critical accounting estimates and judgements
In thè application of the charity's 8ccounling policies, th@ trustees are required to make judgements, estimates
and assumptions about the carrying amount of assets and liabilities that are not readily apparenl from other
sources. The eslimales and associated assumptions are based on hislofical experience and other factors that
are considered to be relevant. Actual results may differ from these estimates.
The eslimales and underlying assumptions are reviewed on an ongoing basis. Revisions lo accounting
estimates are recognised in the period in which the estimate is revised where the revision affects only that
period, or in the period of the revision and future periods where the revision affects bolh current and future
periods.
