The Trustees present their report and the unaudited accounts for the charity for the year ended 30 September 2022.
Structure, governance and management
The Charity was established on 5[th] October 2020. The Objects of the Charity are to advance the education of boys and girls by the provision of a day or day and boarding school or schools by way of providing bursary awards subject to parental means testing thereby widening access to AKS School, and to improve the infrastructure of AKS School or such other area of benefit within which the Charity Trustees decide to benefit.
To achieve the above Objects, considerable income must be generated. The Charity does not itself raise funds; rather this is the responsibility of the AKS School, who will aim to achieve this by generating donations to the Charity from alumni and other supporters of AKS.
The trustees who have served during the year are shown on page 1. Generally Trustees are appointed for a 3 year term, and are selected with regard to the skills, knowledge and experience needed for the effective administration of the charity. Trustees can be reappointed for a maximum of 3 consecutive terms.
Activities during the Year
The charity is not currently in a position to make awards under its Objects, as it currently has no funds. During the last year, AKS has been establishing the necessary infrastructure to start to generate those funds and, since the end of the period which this Report covers, has appointed a Director of Development whose remit will be further this process.
The Charity met twice during the year, to receive progress reports from AKS on their work to enhance the development activities, including the appointment of the Director of Development, and to deal with statutory matters.
Financial review
The Charity has had no income, or expenditure during the year. The Charity has no Capital, nor debt.
Plans for the coming year
The Charity will continue to support AKS in developing its funding infrastructure, and in particular will seek ways to assist the newly-appointed Director of Development.
