The Goptic Orthodtsx Church was founded in Egypt over 2(KK) years ago and reprèsents approximately 80% of
Christians in the Middle East, wth growth in the last 60 years woddwxle. In the United Kingdom the Coptic Orthodox
Church commenced its, ministy in London in 1954. sin￿ then the Coptic Orthodox Church has becotne an active
member of its respective local, regional and national communilies. The core of its pastoral (zre is the focus on Christian
education and also encouraging an acbve youlh ministry. The C￿"c Orth(xlox Church serves on a wder level
engaging in a variety of benevo￿nt and advcw related work_lt also engages vthh issues of ￿ligiOuS freedom and
50oal justice.
The Copti¢ Orthodox Chuich Th)w has over 32 parishes in the UnTted KirKJdom and the Republic of lletand and is served
by three dicttses. His HolKness Pope Taw*lro$ 11 and the Holy Synod of the Coptic Orthodox Church have now
estsblished the Coptic Orthodox Dwse of London which covers all patishes in the South of England and South
