the charity as set out in its
governing document|Para 1.17|The Charity strives to improve the living and
welfare conditions of the animals, including, free
roaming and owned animals on the Island of Sal,
Cape Verde. We provide education in the care and
welfare of animals to the residents of the island. In
addition to this we provide regular neutering and
medication independently in our clinics, and with
the islands resident Vet.| |Summary of the main

1.19|Successful neutering continues bringing our total to over
4000 dogs neutered,and many cats on the Island of Sal.
This is naturally reducing the future population of unwanted
and free roaming cats and dogs and prevents the risk of
testicular cancer in males and uterus infections and
cancers in females.
The dogs were micro chipped and treated for internal and
external parasites.
We have now had our own Walk in Clinic in Espargos for
almost 2 years. This open for all treatments, free of charge
twice a week, and have found this more productive than
having 2 yearly campaigns.
The Vet is kept very busy with a variety of surgeries
including limb amputations.
We have again been joined by Vets from Italy twice a year
on a voluntary basis.
The charity has found homes for a considerable number of
the dogs and puppies after neutering and micro chipping.
Ongoing support and aftercare is offered to all rehomed
dogs.
The centre is leased on a yearly basis and we have a
veterinary technician in attendance twice a week. We strive
to offer all services free of charge including neutering.
We supply the dogs in the Municipal Kennels monthly with
parasite prevention but unfortunately the Government
restrict further intervention.| |Statement confirming

been a massive asset , providing regular treatments not
only for the free roaming animals but also those owned by
poor families that are unable to pay veterinary
expenditure. The total of animals now neutered by our
Charity is now in excess of 4000. This year we have had
air-conditioning fitted and improved much of the
equipment and added to our stocks of medication.
Every dog that comes in goes out with a collar and lead to
comply with the Governments new legislation. Locals are
showing a real interest in dog welfare which is so
rewarding and a massive stem forward for future animal
