She Productions is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) governed by a foundation
model constitution, granted charitsble status by the Charity Commission on 5th Ottober
2020.
Recruitment and a
ointment of Trustees..
As set out in the constitution, the Chair of the Board is elected by the trustees and
presides as Chair at Board meetings of the charity. There is a minimum of 3 to a
maximum of 12 trustees elected to the Board at any one time.
Any changes to the number of trustees on the board will be approved by the Board of
trustees in a Board meeting. Vacancies will be advertised externally and pr05pettive
applicants will be invited to interview with the Board. In seletting individuals for
appointment as charity trustees, the charity trustees must have regard to the skills,
knowledge and experience needed for the effective administration of the CIO.
Apart from the first charity trustees, every trustee must be appointed for a term of three
years by a resolution passed at a properly convened meeting of the charity trustees.

The business of the charity is supervised by the Board of trustees who meet at least four
times each year, or more frequently as required. The charity's Business Plan and annual

During 2023, the eX￿utIVe team employed a team of freelan￿r5 who worked as
faalitators, actors, creatives aThl artists during various projects.
Volunteers continued to supported with project research and development, and prop and
costume design.

provides an opportunlty to focus on developing other key projects, particularly the new
launched community theatre company.

The formalisation of our. rektionship with.East PidiNJ Theatre through the upcoming
memornnduffl of agreement marks a significant milestone in She Productions, journey.

for collaboration and growth, further ￿MentIng our role in the local arts community.
She Productions remains committd to its mission of emtJ)werment through the arts,
community engagement, and fostering creativty acro￿ diverse groups. As we approach
our 10-year annlversary, we look foMard to celebrating our achievements, strengthening
our partnershlps, and setLing ambitious goals for the fubjre. The Comrnunlty Theatre

This report provides an overview of She Pr(Kluttions' slgnificant activitles and outcomes
during the period from 1st January 2023, to 31st December 2023. The organisation
continued to build on its successes while adapts.ng b) new challenges and OppO￿nItIeS.
Successful Projects and Parthorships
Throughout 2023, She Productions remained committed to its mission of empowerment
and community enrichment. The onJanisation SLKcessfully executed several projects and
collaboratlons:
l. Flndlng Your vol￿ with East Riding Counci1: This partnership contlnued to empower
participants through self*xpression, dt3ma and perfornian￿.
2. Beverley Does Broadway: The musical satire was successfully staged at the East Riding
Theatre in Beverfey, entertaining audiences and raisirHJ funds for the charity.
3. Family Chrisbnas Musical - The Three Wise Women: In partnership with East Riding
Librarfes, thls new production toured local libraries throughout D￿ernber 2023,
celebrating diverse female characters and fostering a love for the arts among younger
UdIen￿5.

4. Voicentre Workthops: Collaboration wlth the Natjonal InitiatNe for Crealive Educatlon
(NICE) provided drdma workshops for young ￿fUgees, individuals with English as a
cond languagei and those from the Global Majority. While this project will pause in 2024
due to fundingi the company maintsins a strong working relationshlp with NICE for future
OPF()rtunities.
5. H￿A Workshops.. Step Up and StsrKI Out and Induction W0￿shopS were dellvered to
engineering learners across H￿A ￿ntres, developing confiden￿, communication, and
professlonalism in the workpla￿.
6. CPD Workshops for Ubrary Stsff: Delivered workshops to enhan￿ Confiden￿ a
explore new con￿pts for the Libraries, Boun￿ and Rhyme sessions.
New Initiatives
l. Community Theatre Group: Launch￿1 in autumn 2023, thls Initlatlve was bom i)ut of
the success of the Finding Your Voice project The community theatre company is open to
all local residents, with participants who are learners with the East Riding of Yorkshire
Counal's Adult Leamlng and Employability Team recervirNJ free places. The group alms to
build Confiden￿ and a Sen￿ of communty, Introdu￿ different theatre skills and
techniques, and provide perf0rrnan￿ opportunities. LcK)king ahead, there are plans for the
group to be considered for community casts at the East Riding Theatre. This successful
launch has allowoj the executive team to focus more time and resources on its
development in the coming year,
2. R&D for Volunteers Muslcal: Tr Company Inltiated research and development
workshops for a new pr￿lutt10n titled Volunt￿rS the Musical." This project involved
collabordting with various charities and communty groups to collect real-life stories from
volunteer5. These stories will senie as the tyJilding blocks for the musical, which is
pencilled in as She Productlons, 2025 show to commemorate the company's 10-year
annlversary, This initiative not only lays the groundwor* for a future productlon but al
celebrates the invBluable contributions of volunteers across different sectors, aligning with
the company's misslon of communty engagement and empowerment.
Board Development
l. New Trust￿. Following an in-depth interview process, the Board successfully
appointed three new trustees In D￿rnber 2023, strengthening the Board's capaclty and
bringing in fresh expertise.
2. Governan￿. The dedicated governan￿ project group continued to M￿t, futher
enhanang tharity's governance practi￿.

3. Partnethip Development: Wlth the appolntment of new trustees, the Board has
engaged in discussions with the Board of East Riding Theatre. These talks have led to the
drafting of a memorandum of agreement to officially trdrsilion She Pr(MJuclions from
company in residen￿ to associalE company and outreach partner. This agreement Is set
to be signed and finallsed In 2024, marking a significant step In the organisation's growth
and partnerships.
Financial Review
The tharty's Ir￿rne for the period 1st January 2023 to 31st December 2023 was
£104,506 (restricted £30,886 & unrestiicted £73,620). Total expenditu￿ amounted to
£96,049 (restritted £28,335 & unrestricted £67,714) resulting in a surplus of £8,457 for
the year. The charity had unrestricted re*rves of £19,286 at 31st December 2023.
Taklng Into account the nature of the charity's income streams, the truSt￿S are of the
vlew that reserves at these levels are suffiaenL She Produttions continue to work projett
to projett due to a decrease in available funding and the impact of the pandemlc. At thls
time the core costs of the tharlty are something the executive team intends to focus on to
ensu￿ sustalnabS1ty and consistery. To do this She Productions wlll apply ft)r more long-
term fundlng to supp)rt the growth and development of the charitr<s purpose and
activities.
In line with chaiity law, fund accounting has been carried oul and different types of
reserves may be shown in the Statement of Assets and Ltabilities as follows:

deslgnated by the trustees for a specific pu￿Se.

cor6ider that an audit is not required for thls year under section 144 of the Charities Art 2011 (the
Charities Act) and that an independent examination is nethl.

charitsble objectives and the as9xiation is therefore exempt under current
legislation from most fomis of taxation.
The charity Is not VAT registered and all experKliture includes Irr￿0ve￿b1e VAT.
Trustee Remunerntion
No remuneration directy or I￿lirectlY out of the fvnds of the Charity was paid or
payable for the year to any Trustee.
The￿ was no reimbursement of Irdvel experses duTing the year.
