## **Summary of Purpose:** 

A community for young adults (18-30s) from churches and the wider community. We exist to encourage young adults to find hope and faith in Jesus and connect with each other from different denominations and church traditions. 

## **Changes in Trustees & Team** 

We have a change with 2 of our trustees stepping back and an appointment of an additional trustee, Beth. We’ve also enlarged our young adult leadership team to over 10 to increase leadership growth and bring in younger young adults. 

## **Main Activities:** 

Large regional gathering, monthly worship & teaching events, community gatherings & retreats 

## **Retreat Weekend** 

Over the past year we’ve again partnered with Wildside Experience on the Blackdown Hills, providing a retreat camp. This Summer we organised one camp with around 40 young adults attending. We also invited a team from the North Devon House of Prayer to leader our teaching session. 

## **Summary of Achievements:** 

Over the last year: 

This year, we’ve increased our reach throughout the South West engaging with over 50 churches and ministries and seeing over 1,200 young adults attend our various events. 

AWAKEN has established a young adult one day conference at the start of the year (January). This draws over 100 young adults from the region with guest speakers and worship teams. The Summer weekend away has continued to be valuable to create and strengthen relationships across the church. 

## **Some of the highlights:** 



We took a minibus of young adults to The Send at Wembley Arena in July. This inspired the young adults to start at 6:30am prayer meeting which has taken place every Thursday morning since. 

One again we took around 30 young adults to David’s Tent festival in August. This was a powerful time of community and worship. 

We’ve hosted a YWAM team from Mexico and the Circuit Riders from the USA. These teams blessed the wider community, serving with other ministries and churches. 

We launched a young adult Alpha course at the start of 2025 with over 20 attendees.  All of them loved it and have grown in their faith and knowledge of Jesus. 

AWAKEN has continued a strong relationship with the local Prayer Room (Pursuit/Somerset House of Prayer). We’ve hosted some of the evenings and shared updates around Gen Z and many in the community have grown in their spiritual gifting through the prayer room. We’ve also helped host events with the new Gospel band. Some events had over 800 attendees, including ‘A Gospel Christmas’ in December. 

## **Going forward** 

We’re stirred about the huge interest in faith among Gen Z and Millennials. With this in mind we are looking at events over the coming year to engage with the unchurched, creating opportunities to explore & discuss faith.
