## **B. STRUCTURE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT** 

Afidi is governed by its trustees in accordance with its governing document. The trustees are responsible for the overall management and strategic direction of the charity. New trustees are recruited and inducted in line with the charity's policies. 

The trustees meet regularly to review performance against the charity's objectives, approve budgets and significant expenditure, and ensure compliance with charity law and good governance standards. 

The charity operates primarily in the United Kingdom with programmatic delivery in Cameroon through a Country Coordinator. The trustees maintain oversight of all international operations. 

## **C. OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES** 

The charity's principal objective is to advance education and improve quality of life for underprivileged communities in Cameroon. During 2024, the charity pursued this through: 

- School sponsorship programmes supporting children in Cameroon with school fees and materials 

- Programmatic community activities and educational initiatives 

- Fundraising activities to support future programmes 

- Engagement with corporate giving platforms to expand funding 

## **D. ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE** 

In 2024, the charity achieved the following:

Continued strong performance with Benevity as primary funder. Materials investment for operational capacity. School sponsorships maintained. Healthy surplus carried forward to support 2025 expanded programmes. 

Total income for the year was £20,170.00, with total expenditure of £12,520.95, resulting in a surplus of £7,649.05. 

## **E. FINANCIAL REVIEW** 

The trustees present the accounts for the year ended 31 December 2024. The accounts have been prepared on a receipts and payments basis in accordance with the Charities Act 2011 and the Statement of Recommended Practice (Charities SORP).

## **F. RESERVES POLICY** 

The trustees aim to maintain free reserves sufficient to cover approximately three months of operational expenditure. As at 31 December 2024, the charity held a surplus of £7,649.05, which will be carried forward to fund future charitable activities. 

## **G. TRUSTEES' DECLARATION** 

The trustees confirm that the Trustees' Annual Report and the accounts for the year ended 31 December 2024 were approved by the board of trustees and signed on their behalf.
