1) For the benefit of the public to relieve the suffering of Labrador breed dogs in need of care and attention and to promote humane behaviour towards Labrador breed dogs, in particular but not exclusively, by: 

- a)  Providing grants of financial assistance to Labrador breed dogs rescue facilities established to relieve the suffering of Labradors in need

- of care and attention and provide facilities for the reception, care, treatment and rehoming of such animals; b)  The provision of free medical or surgical treatment, or such treatment at reduced charges, to Labrador breed dogs belonging to persons who are unable to afford the services of a veterinary surgeon; and 

c)  Offering advice on responsible ownership and re-homing. 

- 2) To advance the education of the public in matters concerning Labrador breed dogs’ health and welfare in general, including undertaking research into the same, the useful results of which will be published for the public benefit. Achievements and performance

ACHIEVEMENTS **Summary of the main** Continued fundraising in the current climate has proved difficult, especially **achievements of the charity** with the cost of living crisis but sales of rescue calendars, bespoke mugs and **during the year** bandanas has gone very well.  Our JustGiving page has continued to raise money via the rescue website from unknown donors. We rehomed 67 Labradors during 2024. The ones that really stuck out this year were: Leo, who was returned to his breeder for eating his own excrement, we helped to rehome him and he living his best life with a holiday lined up abroad. Pepper, a puppy that had not been living her best life and on arrival in her new home completely shut down.  After weeks of letting her decompress and help from our local trainer helped her come out of her shell and is now visiting the beach and trips out in the soft top car. Blaze, came into rescue heavily pregnant.  1 week later she gave birth to a litter of 10 healthy puppies, with thanks to the volunteer experienced whelper that offered to help us over the initial 8 weeks.  Amazing homes were found for all pups and Blaze as well. Bruce and Yogi, whose owners had deceased very closely together, we moved them straight into foster and were successfully rehomed together. Winston, was initially adopted through us, but was returned a year later due to separation anxiety.  We rehomed to another home, who love him warts and all. 

Nelly, had been incontinent since birth, her owner couldn’t keep her due to his own health issues.  She came into foster where she began medical treatment.  Sadly after just a week it was discovered she had chronic kidney issues, amongst others, she sadly passed away aged 1. Four Paws –  A massive thanks to Siobhan and her team for their continued and ongoing support. A thank you to our adopters for loving our dogs and also to the families who have returned and adopted another from us.

LUKAG is a new charity with low monetary reserves, therefore we will address this matter annually if our income increases to a point a reserve is needed.
