The Trustees of Easthands submitted their report and financial statements for the year endin8 31"
March 2023. EastHands. which was established in 2019, had its constitutlon formally adopted on
nd
12th June 2020 with the first amendments adopted on 22 September 2020. It was incorporated as
charity. with its name entered in the Charity Commission's Central Register on 24th
September
2020. The statements have been prepared in accordance with the statement of recommended
practice for Accounting and Reporting by Charities.

The relief of those in need, by reason of youth, age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or
disadvantage in Bangladesh and other such countries as the Trustees shall from time to time
determine, by providing grants, items and services to individuals in need and/or charities or other
organisations working to meet and tide over their charitable needs.
Chair meets King
When King Charles111 journeyed to East London at the invitation of BBPI Councillors Abdal Ullah and
Ayesha Qureshi MBE, JP, he wa5 met by EastHands Charity Chairman Nobab Uddin, who spoke to
the monarch. The King heard the enlightening story of the contributions of Bangladeshis to the
liberation war of their country in Britain. At the same time, Chairman Nobab Uddin highlighted
before the monarch the contributions made by British Bangladeshis to the economy, culture and
politics of Britain.
Hot food distributlon in Westminster area and Tower Brldge point
The British charity EastHands and the British Bangla Welfare Trust distributed food to people
standing in long queues to pay their respects to the late Queen as her cortege went by. At midnight
on September l?, tea, coffee, croissants, muffins, cakes, apples, bananas and water were distributed
to hundreds of people at Tower Bridge Point. It may be noted that after the death of Queen

Elizabeth 11, she lay in state at Westminster Hall for four days for the general public to pay their
respects. People came from different parts of the world to express their condolences. They pald
their last respects to the Queen by waiting for up to 24 hours in queues about 8 kilometer5 long.
Chairman of British Bangla Welfare Trust Khosruzzaman Khosru said, 'We have jointly initiated a
little project to relieve the fatigue of people waiting for 24 hours. Our activities will continue at
various points till September 19., ASM Masum, a volunteer of Easthands, said, "We are
overwhelmed by people's love forthe Queen and the country. So we have worked togetherto bring
relief to people who are tired of waiting in long queues.,
Letter from the Kln¢s Palace
Afterthe death of Queen Elizabeth11, on behalf of Easthands charity ASM Masum provided hot meals
to thousands of people who had lined up to pay their last respects to the departed Queen over four
nights in August 2022. King Charles 111 sent his personal letter and card to volunteer ASM Masum
expressing his gratitude for the Besture.
Raislng money for underprlvileged children:EastHands Charlty Badminton Tournament
As the first E3Sthands International Charity Badminton Tournament 2022 was successfully
completed, the second Easthands International Charity Badminton Tournament this year is
scheduled to be held on Sunday, 23rd July 2023, at Redbridge Sports Centre. The tournament will
run from 10 am to 8..30 pm. The opening ceremony will be held at 10:30 am, with the final match
taking place trom 5 pm and the prize distribution at 8 pm.
In order to make this tournament a success, a second preparatory meeting was held on Friday, 16th
June, at a restaurant in East London under the chairmanship of Nobab Uddln. Chairman of Easthands
International Charity and a prominent sportsman and reputed journalist. Former Councillor Ataur
Rahman, one of the initiators of the tournament. former Chairman of Tower Hamlets Badminton
Club Bablul Haque, Chairman of Taqwa Badminton Club journalist Md. Abdul Munim Jahedi Karol,
Secretary F3ruk Fuad Chowdhury, former director of Manny's Restaurant and prominent sportsman
Mahidul Islam Chowdhury, Tower Hamlets badminton club member Solicitor Sebalul Haque, one of
the founders of Badminton Club, Swanley School teacher, distinguished sportsperson Abdul
Muktadir Shamim, Bangladesh Badminton Federation UK Vice President Habib Ahmed, Taqwa
Badminton Club Treasurer Muhaiiem Ahmed Ribu and others were present at the meeting.
Monthly Dropln
At the end of the first lockdown. EastHands conducted a weekly drop-in and telephone support
service, dispensing advice and income to people most affected by the pandemic, in particular people
rendered unemployed, elderly people and the homeless.

The international charity EastHands ran a Food Bank Donatlon Point in East London to help those in
need as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Grand completion of Charlty Badminton Tournament 2022
The first Easthands International Charity Badminton Tournament was held in London with great
fanfare. This charity tournament was held on Sunday, 21st August 2022. at Redbridge Sports Centre
in Barkingside, Essex. The tournament went on from 10 am till 9..30 pm.
This charity tournament was inaugurated by the Chairman of Easthands International Charity, Nobab
Uddin, a prominent sportsman. Businessman Monir Ahmad, one of the sponsors of the tournament
and director of JMG Cargo, also spoke on the occasion,
In addition to London, Luton, Birmingham, Leicester, Reading, Surrey, Postmouth, Cardiff,
Manchester, Southampton, Cambridge, Doncaster, Ipswich, around 180 players 190 teams) from
various cities in the United Kingdom cheerfully participated in this magnificent historic game. A
wonderful prize distribution ceremony followed the tournament.
Britlsh Bengal Welfare Trust and Easthands dlstrlbute water and umbrellas to people in Summer
British Bengal Welfare Trust and Ea5thands Charity jointly distributed cold water, dry food and
umbrellas to hundreds of people in Stratford, East London, when the temperature in London rose
to around 41 degrees.
Stratford Area Councillor Sabiha Kamali joined the program. She noted that the distribution of the
cold water among people in such hot weather was wonderful work as some people would get some
relief.
Nobab Uddin's Step Challenge
The international charity organlsation Easthands Charity has raised money through the Step
Challenge or Walk programme for blind, mute and deaf disabled children. The chairman of the
organisation, Nobab Uddin, walked more than 60 thousar)d steps every week for one and a half
month5 in order to collect this money. In the event, £3,000 were collected.
Community Lottery Fund
Ea5tHand5 received a project grant to improve health through backyard and allotment gardenlng.
This one-year projert will be conducted in Newham and Tower Hamlets. Besides encouraging people
in gardenin& training will be provided to them by experts.

NHS Trust and Tower Hamlets Council
EastHands obtained this project for six months, the objective being to raise awareness among
people who are in trouble due to the rising cost of living and to give them advice on coping with the
situation. The project will run in Tower Hamlets to give proper advice to people who have problems
in such areas as loan repayments. electricity and gas bills, benefits, etc.
Albert Hunt Trust
Easthands will run the Albert Hunt Trust's project for better living through vegetable gardening in
people's individual spaces. The focus will be residents of Tower Hamlets.
Iftar at Whltechapel Market
Iftar was organised under the open sky with the Street Traders of Whitechapel durlng the holv
month of Ramadan. Market traders as well as pedestrians participated in the iftar. This project was
jointly organized with British Bangla Welfare.
Handover of house keys
Under the initiative of Ambia Mosleh Uddin Trust and Easthands Charity, a house has been built for
the less privileged Rafique Miah in Juri, Moulvibazar, the key of which was handed over to him. The
total cost of the construction was 2.$ lac taka.
Prosthetlc leg for Anika
Anika Akhter, daughter of Abid Miah of Kulaura upazila, had her right leg amputated as a result of
an accident. She received f inancial support from EastHands Charity to get herself fitted with a high-
quality prosthetic leg in order to be able to walk normally.
Easthands distributed educational materlals to flood afferted areas in Sunamganj
On the initiative of Easthands. cash was provided for the purchase of educational materials among
students in Fenerbacck of Jamalganj Upazila, a flood-prone area of Sunamganj. The cèsh was
dlstributed among 30 students of Ferdowsi Ali Amjad Chowdhury High School in Fenerbacck.
Sharmeen Begum. a student of cla55 IX, sai¢Y, '1 will buy a notebook, pen and geometry box with this
money..
The founder of the school, Shahriar Biplab, said that many of the poor students will be able to buy
their necessary educational materials with this support from Easthands.

Eid gifts for helpless disabled people in Sylhet
Food items were distributed among disabled children. elderly, women and men of Ward No 5 of
Sylhet city. On Friday, 21 April 2023, such relief materials were handed over to them with the help
and cooperation of Councillor Rezwan Ahmed of Sylhet City Corporation in Ambarkhana Barabazar
area ofsylhet city. Anwaruzzaman Chowdhury, the Awami League's nominee for the office of mayor
in the upcoming Sylhet City Corporation elertion, was present as chief guest at the event.
He said that disabled people are the wealth of our country. They should be used to build a smart
Bangladesh. EastHands handed over gifts to the disabled on the occasion of holy Eid-ul-Fitr. certainly
a commendable move.
Easthands gives food for a month to visually impalred chlldren
As In every year, EastHands Charity provided a month's worth of food to a school for visually
impaired children in Sylhet. This food was distributed among disabled children of Green Disabled
Foundation in Jindabazar of the clty. The food list included rice, lentils, oil, flour, onion, turmeric,
chilli, coriander, salt and potatoes.
On l April, on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, United Kingdom-based charitv
organisation EastHands provided these food items. Sylhet City Corporation Ward No. 5 Councillor
Rezwan Ahmad handed over these food items to the foundation authorities.
Eld Gifts for disabled famllles in Barisal, Bangladesh
EastHands handed over Eid gifts to 22 hearing-impaired and physically challenged families in
Banarlpara Upazila of Barisal Division of Bangladesh.
Ramadan Food Pack
In 2023, 1500 people from about 250 families were glven Ramadan food packs In Moulvibazar and
Sunamganj. Each foodpack contained 40 kg of food item5, including rice. pulses, oil and spices,
Besides, about 2000 students were made to break the fast in madrasahs in different areas through
such food assistance.
Support to local mosques
A donatlon of Tk 180 thousand was given to Baitul Falah Jame Masjid in Shariatpur village of South
Sunamganj. At the same time, the incomplete work of the mosque was completed by donating Tk 2
lakh to Baitul Aman M05que in village Dipia in Kanakpur Union of Moulvibazar district.

Earthquake In Turkey
EastHands handed over funds to the Human Relief Foundatlon for families affected by the
devastating earthquake in Turkey. Khairul Shahid was present on behalf of Human Relief
Foundation.
Clean water projert in Afrlca
Water tank5 have been provided in the drought-stricken East African country of Somaliland. Families
can collect w3ter and use it for a long period of time.
Organisation
The trustees named on page I have served throughout the period. Appointment of trustees is
governed by the Trust Deed o* the Charity. The board of trustee5 is authorized to appoint new
trustees to fill vacancies arriving through resignation or death of existing trustees.
Reserves and Reserves Policy
Easthands Charity is committed to using its resources in pursuit of its charitable objects. It is also
committed, however, to maintaining a level of reserves that is prudent to meet ongoing liabilities,
sufficient to ensure that all service delivery commitments can be met and to protect the long-term
future of our operatlons. Easthands reserve pollcy seek5 to balance these priorities by holding a level
of reseNes sufficient to:
Ensure the availabllity of sufficient working funds in hand;
Provide a cushion in case of unexpected Ios5 of income to ensure that services can be
maintained;
Provide sufficient funds for an orderly windlng-down in the event of a need to cease artivity.
The trustees review the situation on a regular basis and take immediate corrective action as and
when necessary.
Risk Statement
The trustee5 have examined the major strategic, business, and operational risks which the charity
faces and confirm that Systems have been established to enable regular reports to be produced so
that the necessary steps can be taken to lessen those risks.

Financial Informatlon and Future Developments
The financial position of the Charity is portrayed in the accompanying Annual Accounts.
Tru5tee5 Responslbilitles In Relatlon to the Flnanclal Statements
The Charities Act requires the Trustees to prepare financial statements for each financial year which
give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the charity for that period. In preparing those
financial statements the Committee Members are required to:
Select suitable accounting policies, apply them consistently and state them in the financial
statements;
State whether applicable accounting standards have been followed, subjert to any material
departures disclosed and explained in the financial statements,. and
Indicate where the financial statements are prepared other than on the basis that the Trust
is a going concern.
The Committed Members are responsible for keeping proper books of accounts with respect to the
trust's transactions and records of asset5 and liabilities while maintaining a satisfactory system of
internal controls. The Committee Members are a150 responsible for safeguarding of asset5 of the
Trust and hence for taking reasonable steps for the p￿ventIOn and detection of fraud and other
irregularities.

(a) Basis of preparation
The financial statemcnls have been prepared under the bistorical cost convention. The financial
statements have becn prepared in accordance ￿th Statement of Recommended Praetice.. Accounring
and Reporting and applicable UK Accounting Standards and the Chariii¢s Act 2011.
(b) Funds stNctur¢
Unrestricted in¢ome funds comprise thos¢ funds which the tn￿teeS arc free to use for any purpose in
furtherance of the charitable objecis. Unrcstsi¢tcd funds include desi￿ated funds where the trustees,
at th¢ir discrclion. have set asi(k resources for a specific puryjose.
Restricted fimds are funds which are to be used in accordance with s￿]fiC re8tri¢tions imposed by the
donor or the ternis of a spccific app¢al at any time and undcr the tem]s for public collcction of Zakat
in accordance with the teachings of fslam.
{c) Charitable activilies
Charitable exp¢nditur¢ compris¢s thosc costs incurred by the eh8rily in the delivery of its actikities and
servi¢cs for its b¢neficiarie8. It includes both the dire¢l pay and support costs relating to those activities.
(d) Tangible fixed assets and depr¢ciation
All assets costing more than £5(K> are ¢apitalised and at historic cost. Fixed ass¢ts are slated at cost less
accumulated depr¢¢iation. The fr¢ehold propety is valued at historic cost and it is noi dq)recialed.
