LOVE TREES CORNWALL
Annual Re

riod ended 31 De￿rnber 2023
We have had another successful year as we ontinue to plant new native trees on our local Boland
rewildlng reserve. dedicated to native flora & fauna, while we plan a new Tree Centre for local schools
and educational authorities in years to come.
The Tree Centre project is outlined on our webslte. and we would welcome any Input from those
reading thls. as we wlsh to create a safe place for nature study. based around trees. to be a5 of much
use to future generations for environmental awareness and learning projects as possible.
We spoke at Cornwall Councll's Eco EMe￿encY Summit in May 2023 to stress the importance of
involving children with nature at. We have also been interviewed by local radio to spread our ethos.
We rnet repre5entative5 from the European Centre for Environment and Human Health, to discu55
ways in which we can achieve goal congruence with natu￿ projerts and environmental art. We have
also worked other similar organisations such as Penwith College and St Ives Community Orchard.
We have been promoting whole growing process- from Seed to Sapling- nurturing natlve trees for
safe sltes, as wlth Bosavem Community Fami. Penwlth Tree Planters and Cape Cornwall School and
encouraging the Wellness Garden at Humphry Davy School with the Sensory Trust.
We have contlnued the'MyTree and Me, project, encouraging chlldren to create individual. mini tree
books, encouraging personal connections with nature. Congratulations to Marazion Primary School
for illustrated contributions. which we were pleased to financially support. for'my Tree and Me,.
We cornbine 'down-to-earth' environmental activities with inspirational ideas and images. This
balance is illustrated by the balanced roots and branches of our logo. We are running two. long term
complementsry projects-. 'Collect, Plant, Protecy is practical and 'My Tree and Me, is imaginative.
Linked learning thernes can blend logical and intuitive values. First online, then enlarged into
beautifully illustrated botanical panels for the Tree Centre these teaching guides will fuse art. science
and healing to illustrate that a51 trees should always be cherished as Yrees of Life,.
