Purposes and Aim
The aim of the Charitable Trust are:
-
a) The advancement of education in Rajasthani traditions and values in particular, but not exclusively through the provision of cultural and social and events in line with Rajasthani traditions and values.
-

Ensuring our work delivers our aims
Each year, we conduct a comprehensive review of our activities. This review assesses our achievements and the outcomes of our work over the past 12 months. It evaluates the success of each key activity and the benefits they have provided to the groups we aim to support. This process ensures that our aims, objectives, and activities remain aligned with our stated purposes. We refer to the Charity Commission’s general guidance on public benefit when reviewing our aims and objectives and planning future activities. In particular, the trustees consider how planned activities will contribute to the aims and objectives they have established.
Achievements and Performance
Our main objectives for the year continued to be the work towards the advancement of Rajasthani traditions and values.
To achieve our objectives, we implemented the following strategies:
-
Organized a variety of events and celebrations to foster community connections across the United Kingdom.
-
Emphasized the benefits of positive mental health by encouraging societal engagement and cultural understanding, benefiting not only individuals but also their families, friends, and the broader community.
-
Provided cultural education to children to enhance their awareness of their heritage.
-
Collaborated with other charities to expand our reach and presence.
Activities Performed:-
Our main activities and who we try to help are described below. All our charitable activities focus on the education advancement, mental health & to avoid poverty and are undertaken to further our charitable purposes for the public benefit.
-
A. RAUK continued its engagement with the community by conducting cultural workshops. These workshops significantly enhanced cultural studies on various Indian subjects. They provided opportunities to learn the Indian language while enriching students’ linguistic skills, cultural knowledge, and awareness. The workshops, each an hour long, were offered to children aged 7-11 and were attended by over 40+ students.
-
B. Educated children and adults from the Rajasthani community in the UK about the achievements of prominent Rajasthani individuals in both the UK and India, RAUK provided information through its Facebook page, social media groups, articles, a yearly magazine, and face-to-face interactions such as online sessions, Zoom meetings, and Facebook Live sessions.
-
C. To alleviate loneliness and encourage people in England to speak out during crises such as COVID-19, RAUK collaborated with various charities to launch a support group called “Here2Hear.” The primary objective of this group was to listen to individuals, offer reassurance, and foster a sense of togetherness to promote positivity.
-
D. The highlight of the year 2023 was the “Gangaur Festival”, “Jeeman” & “Mirchi Bada ” festival which has seen all-time high individual participation. These festivals was to increase the cultural awareness and education to the young people who are living in the UK, to support the mental health of the community members.
-
i. On the last point (D)- some lessons should be noted. For example; better management of attendance so as not to breach health & safety issues. Some considered thought should also be given in the manner in which some of our founding members are both received and greeted.
Volunteers
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the volunteers who work tirelessly to make the Rajasthan Association United Kingdom (RAUK) the vibrant and welcoming organization it is. Your unwavering efforts on our behalf are deeply appreciated. Special thanks to those who assisted with understanding RAUK’s accounts and finances, media communications including social media, outreach, and decorations, all of which have been instrumental in keeping RAUK running smoothly.
Financial Review
Cash at bank at Virgin Money was £13,463.07 in unrestricted funds. The main financial risk to the charity is loss of funding from the Council and reduced donations. The funds are held to cover 4 months operational costs in the event of a loss of income and to meet any unforeseen expenditure that may occur.
Our main source of funds this year has been donations and event tickets price for the guests in the different events and programmes.
The detailed Financial Statement and detailed financial review is attached as a separate report.
Other optional information
Future Plans
The coming year will see a continued emphasis on the use of the activities to build and deepen the confidence and capability of our young people and Busiensses.
