Apart from the first charity trustees, every trustee must be appointed for a term of three years by a resolution (2) In selecting individuals for appointment as charity trustees, the charity trustees must have regard to the skills, knowledge and experience needed for the effective administration of the CIO ## **Activities and objectives in the year** During this second year as a CIO, Caban Pentra’s principal objective was to drive forward the development of a new multipurpose community facility for wellbeing and welfare activites. Caban Pentra’s activities include: - Asset transfer of space - architectural design of space - ongoing engagement with residents in consultation on developing a new community and family facility and the kinds of activities and services to be accommodated - mapping potential partners, services and opportunities - engaging with Rural Fund programme and external funders regarding funding the development of the facility and activities - engaging with local authority regarding lease transfer - opening a bank account - ongoing engagement with residents in catchment area through activities ## **Achievements and performance, including reporting on its public benefit** During this first year as a CIO, Caban Pentra: - architects design drafted - asset transfer in progress - distributed and collated further ideas and input from residents via questionnaires and online engagement to gain insight into the multiple envisioned uses of the space including for arts, amateur sports, skills, community use and access to services - initial Rural Fund development grant successful - external funding to cover costs of asset transfer successful **Public benefit** so far has concentrated on the creating the necessary preparation to develop a new physical community facility from which to deliver on Caban Pentra’s charitable objectives, outlined below: ‘To further or benefit the residents who fall within the catchment area for gwaun cynfi primary school, gwynedd, without distinction of sex, sexual orientation, race or of political, religious or other opinions by associating together the said residents and the local authorities, voluntary and other organisations in a common effort to advance education and to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and leisure time occupation with the objective of improving the conditions of life for the residents.’ ## **Financial review including any debts and details of your reserves policy (if applicable)** N/A ## **Details of any funds held as a custodian trustee** N/A **The trustees declare that they have approved the trustees’ report above.** Signed on behalf of the charity’s trustees **Signature: Full name:** Jess Mead Silvester **Position:** Treasurer **Date:** 23/05/2023 **Signature: Full name:** Gareth Lloyd Roberts **Position:** Chair **Date:** 23/05/2023 **----- Start of picture text -----**
