**GUIDING LIGHT LEADS TRUSTEES' REPORT** 

## **FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 AUGUST 2021** 

The Trustees present their report and accounts for the year ended 31 August 2021. 

**Principal activity** improves racial relationships with the police and the African-Caribbean youth and the community by using the history of the AfricanCaribbean people in a positive way to show fortitude of the African-Caribbean people thereby creating pride and improved selfworth in the young people, propelling them to higher educational and vocational achievements. 

## **Trustees** 

The following Trustees held office during the whole of the period:

## **Political donations** 

Grants and donations are only included in the SoFA when the general income recognition criteria are met (5.10 to 5.12 FRS102 SORP). 

## **Statement of Trustees' responsibilities** 

The Trustees are responsible for preparing the report and accounts in accordance with applicable law and regulations. 

Charity law requires the Trustees to prepare accounts for each financial year. Under that law, the Trustees have elected to prepare the accounts in accordance with United Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounting Practice (United Kingdom Accounting Standards and applicable law). Under Charity law the Trustees must not approve the accounts unless they are satisfied that they give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the Charity and of the profit or loss of the Charity for that period. In preparing these accounts, the Trustees are required to: 

- select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently. 

- make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent; 

- prepare the accounts on the going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the Charity will continue in business. 

The Trustees are responsible for keeping adequate accounting records that are sufficient to show and explain the Charity's transactions and disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the Charity and enable them to ensure that the accounts comply with the Companies Act 2006. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the Charity and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities. 

## **Small Charity provisions** 

This report has been prepared in accordance with the special provisions relating to small companies within Part 15 of the Companies Act 2006.

In order to assist you to fulfil your duties under the Companies Act 2006, we have prepared for your approval the accounts of GUIDING LIGHT LEADS for the year ended 31 August 2021 as set out on pages 6 - 7 from the Charity's accounting records and from information and explanations you have given us.

This report is made solely to the Board of Trustees of GUIDING LIGHT LEADS, as a body, in accordance with the terms of our engagement letter dated 24 September 2020. Our work has been undertaken solely to prepare for your approval the accounts of GUIDING LIGHT LEADS and state those matters that we have agreed to state to the Board of Trustees of GUIDING LIGHT LEADS, as a body, in this report in accordance with the requirements of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants as detailed at http://www.accaglobal.com/content/dam/ACCA_Global/Technical/fact/technical-factsheet-163.pdf. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we do not accept or assume responsibility to anyone other than GUIDING LIGHT LEADS and its Board of Trustees as a body for our work or for this report. 

It is your duty to ensure that GUIDING LIGHT LEADS has kept adequate accounting records and to prepare statutory accounts that give a true and fair view of the assets, liabilities, financial position and loss of GUIDING LIGHT LEADS. You consider that GUIDING LIGHT LEADS is exempt from the statutory audit requirement for the year. 

We have not been instructed to carry out an audit or a review of the accounts of GUIDING LIGHT LEADS. For this reason, we have not verified the accuracy or completeness of the accounting records or information and explanations you have given to us and we do not, therefore, express any opinion on the statutory accounts.

## **1 Statutory information** 

GUIDING LIGHT LEADS is a registered charity in England and Wales, registration number 1191339. The registered office is 1 SHAY COURT, Leeds, LS6 2QL, United Kingdom. 

## **2 Average number of employees** 

During the year the average number of employees was 0. 

For the year ending 31 August 2021 the Charity was entitled to exemption from audit under section 477 of the Companies Act 2006 relating to small companies. The members have not required the Charity to obtain an audit in accordance with section 476 of the Companies Act 2006. 

The Trustees acknowledge their responsibilities for complying with the requirements of the Act with respect to accounting records and the preparation of accounts. 

These accounts have been prepared in accordance with the micro-entity provisions of the Companies Act 2006 and FRS 105, The Financial Reporting Standard applicable to the Micro-entities Regime.
