Objectives: The objective of the Hope of Glory Mission (HGM) is to advance the Christian faith for the public benefit, in accordance with the statement of faith, in particular but not exclusively, spreading the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ throughout the world and, such other charitable purposes as shall, in the opinion of the trustees, put into practice the Christian faith in accordance with the statement of faith, including but not limited to: the prevention & relief, hardship & sickness and the advancement of education.

Activities:

The HGM helps member churches in Sri Lanka:

. to preach the gospel in every Sunday Services and other prayer meeting

. to organise gospel meetings

. to visit local people with the good needs of the Lord Jesus

. to help and support the needs of the believers and the local community

Church in Venture – Central Province

Grace Church in Karadipooval – Eastern Province

Church of Christ in Yatiyanthota – Sabaragamuwa Province

Gospel Grace Church in Mulankavil – Northern Province

Gospel Grace Church in Eachchalavakkai – Northern Province

It was a joy to support and add the Church of Christ in Sabaragamuwa to the mission in 2025. This is the mission's sixth church support.

The good news of the Lord Jesus was preached in all Sunday Services along with at mid weekly prayer meetings and many other evangelistic events across the member churches throughout 2025. The pastors were encouraged to visit and engage with their local communities and where possible support and encourage whilst primarily sharing the good news of Jesus Christ.

Due to global events it has been a challenging year for Sri Lanka since the outbreak of war in the Middle East as spiralling fuel, food and energy prices took their toll.

There were several gospel outreach meetings including children gatherings in the first quarter of the year with many non church going families attending which included worshipping and being taught from the bible.

In February there was finally a conclusion to a large rock adjacent to the Church in Devon which had been located there for many years as it was removed freeing up the building

The various Easter gospel outreaches were well attended across the churches with many visitors worshipping at both the Good Friday and Easter Sunday services. Many local people came from many kilometres away and heard the gospel and the pastors were able to follow up and make contact with them shortly afterwards. On Good Friday, a Jesus’ film was shown at Church in Karadipooval in the Eastern Province and 45 people came to watch including 6 policeman! For the first time one parent from 12 different Hindu families came with their children to a prayer meeting on Good Friday in the Church of Venture, a real answer to prayer

The mission gathering held in May in Enfield, North London celebrated the Lords faithfulness by sustaining the mission on their 15[th] anniversary. The meeting allowed the Trustees to appraise and update 50 attendees on the many outreach programmes across the Mission. There was also an opportunity for the Chairman to provide an update on his recent mission visit. The meeting was well attended and all were encouraged by the reports.

Throughout spring and summer individuals and families continued to attend the special events organised. There were two baptisms one at the Gospel Grace Church - Eachchalavakkai in the northern province, a man in his 70s and one at the Church in Karadipooval in the Eastern Province in a man in his 30s.

In August and September the Chairman and a member of Enfield Town Community Church, John Forrest visited Sri Lanka for four weeks preaching and visiting at all of the mission churches. There were many opportunities to spend time with the Elders and local communities encouraging and praying with them

In late November cyclonic storm Ditwah made landfall on Sri Lanka's eastern coast on 28 November 2025, leaving a major humanitarian crisis in its wake causing one of the worst flooding and landslides in 20 years. This disaster effected many of the areas and provinces where the mission serves. As a result of this Christmas outreaches were a challenge in some regions effecting carol singing, gospels meeting and community outreach. It was encouraging that in the Koorai ministry in the northern province a remote Hindu village was visited offering support during the crisis. This village was badly affected by the cyclone and the locals were displaced to a school in the neighbouring village. Biscuits and milk was supplied

At the church in Karadipooval regulars whom had stopped attending for some time visited throughout the Christmas period and are not regulars
