regenerated a new garden in the northern Ènd of the park next to CaArs1e Lanè. area was
originally used as I cut through bythe public and had litt￿ planting With rough gras5,

hurdles to provlde a natural boundary line. planted a wild hedge. buSlt wlldlife habitats and
commissioned seating uslnga 3(Klyearthetrunkfrom a 3LK)yearold plece of oakand iwo from cedar
trunk5.
We continue to malntsin an orchard and apiary aNI a pond ¢ontalnln8 a varletyof habitsts including
frog5 and toad5 which are one of the fe¥v thrivin8 Species in London. We also cornmi55ioned a new
mosaicforthe base of an emsting bronze sculpture and th15 depict5 flowersand plants in the park.

We ran 46 8ardenin8 club se55ions welcomin8 over 150 part￿1paNt5 which included IS Dew local
residents. 7 mental health referralsfromvarlous suprN)rt8genclesand45corporatevolunteefS. These
were run by our a gardenlre therapIS￿ who taught people atrxjut growlng 5eed5, tran5plantln8 and

tenderln8 8ardens. Irowin8 Fruit and vegetables. To offer warpety, we organised a numbeT of art-
related workshops ￿￿n￿ natural products and seedpod5 from the ￿rk Incluolng a se5$1on on
ryanotype which u5e5 5peciallytreated paper when expJsed to sunlight.
We delivered 30tem) time trèinin8 sesslons suprM)rting 6 intern students based at the environmental
ollege frorn Roots and Shoot5 In Kennington. Following the seasons, the students planted a variety
of sprin8 bulbs, cleared the pond, prepared plantin8 areas, took hard cuttin85 and made compost to
name è few key tasks. Frogllfe came to run 8 sesston to check the health of the pond and reduced
some of the over8rown planting areas and thE local beekeeper showed them the hwes intheorchard
and everyone helped harvest ￿ne¥.
As well as the onsite training (the ￿￿entS follow City & Guild5 StaBe l in HDrticulturel, we also Baye
the 5tudent5 to a variety Df expprience5 such as making decorBtlve pl3te5 at Mud G3ng-the pottery
school in Waterloo. They also created several flowtr beds for Morgan Sindall whD are a construction
company working at Evelin3'5 Children's H05pll31 by the park 3nd a trip was organlsed to the Paper
Garden in Canada Water where thry learnt traditional bulkling technlques. These addlllonal
experiences are aimed to enhance skills such as ¢r8ani2ational •bility. teèm wotkinB tirDe
keeplng.
We ran 5volunreerlng days for4 corporaiefirms whSch provSded a fiJrther280 hours of communitv
support and an additional se55ion for parentswutking at a IDcal fim) with theirchildren at half terni.
The latterencoura8ed children to ￿arn about how to plant bulbs and how a park 5UPPOrts a variety
of wildlife.

We continued to promote social inclusion by widety advertising our Club in the park, fliers. our
website. NHS aEencie5 wlthin Lambeth and ￿ul￿Wark. Th4me5 Reach Ihomele551 socièl prescriblng
teams and voluntee￿.
This year we won our 13th Green Flag marking cornmunity involvement in the public realm and our
second gold for London In Bloom.
Thls year we fate the challenge of needing to move our base la eonverted contalner and enclosed
garden) to make way for a new 10-year construction on Royale Street. The plans go forapproval thi5
November and the local authorlty has finally offered è small a￿a wthSn its depot to the
container Within the limited grounds of the office. It will ofFer greater security bein8 behind a wall
with acce55 the container via the turrent roller shutter. As the proposed offer of space around the
container 15 s￿911￿r than we have Currèntly. a rÈquÈSt has bÈÈn mad@ to Èxtènd this Outdoor area.
Toolswill be kept in anothercontair￿rfurther al0￿ accessed from the park via a door to be cut
eutfrom the exlstin8 wall.

Volunteers
AsidÈ from thÈ 8ardÈnin8 dub members artd dedtated schoollcollege activities, the trust welcomes
¥olunteersanddurin8 the year has received support frorn overthirty local people who have provlded
helpto upkeepthevarious8ardens andgreen spatÈS in thÈ Park. This ￿arth@(C￿ld restrictions have
seen a Spike Sn Interest with ￿SIdentS wantlns to enga8e with s￿en 5pace5 and growing act￿llieS
which boost ¥vell-belng.

Durin8 this period our aoivltles we were prIma￿l¥fU￿ded by the lottery'scommunlty Fund, la three
vear8rantawarded froln September 2019 uniil SeptemtÉr20221, Our income durlngthisaccountin8
perlod was £99,289, awarded from the lottery and a few smaller Erant5 and donat￿n% All our
actlvities and expenditure relate to the 5PEciflc outcornes and requlrements of each grani. We h•ve
unrestritted reservesof £53.LKM) and our policy on reserves i5to hold anyextra monies e.8 donations
in the reserve account until needed. It b dlfflcult at this point ro know ¢he impactof Covid on funding
availabiliiy. This year as the accounts were over É25,000. we engaged Leanne Forb25 as an
