worship in the Cadiolic t12ditlOLi of the Cliurcli of E4nBlaiid, whilo fully engaging with oiir w'ider Parish
cominunity wherevei- possible.

parislilcommunity. Social activities, iiicliiding the monthly community Coffee inorning (which continues
to altrdct people from outside lh¢ Tcgular congregation) are open to all and are widely pijbliciscd. In
order to mcet Ilic needs of the congrcgalion and othcrs using oui. facilities, we need to mailltaiii the fabric
aiid ensure that tlie church and parish i-ooni ar¢ as wclcoming as possible.

During 2024 thc maiii Serv￿¢¢ of tlie week was the Sunday Mass. 1'1iere is also a said MASS OT) Thursday
moniings, followed by I'efitshinent5. There wor¢ additlollal servi¢¢s held throughout the year to help
cel¢brate tlie Chuwh's Litiiigical yeai as well.
We were able to maintaiii oui. traditioiial s¢rviBes during Lent and Holy W¢ek. Tlie mail) s¢i'vicc5 wei'e
l)Ild at St Paiil's with th¢ congregation fi'oTn Si Anne's attending. Therc was a weekly devotional service
Zooin whicli ic ltracled iiicmbcrs of both coiigregations.
In d)e peri(K] leddiiig up to Cbristinas we held ali Advent Carol Service. a Niiic Lessoiis and Carol
S¢rvioE and Crib Service all of whicli wer¢ well &lt¢ndcd and attractcd visitOl'5 wlio arc Iiot regular
m¢mb¢rs of the coJ)girgation. As part of our outreacl) to non-mcLnbei's of th¢ usual congregation, we
visited, by invitation of ihe maiiagcr, Iwo hosteli'ies in tl)e parish and l¢d ¢arol singiiig which was well
received.
Duriiig the year w¢ hcld Choi'al F,venboiig threc times and another 'Coine and Sing, choral ¢vensong
which attracted a niimbci- of singers whn wci'c iiot froin St Paul's. Bishop 8mitha also attended &Trnd gave
the sennon. Wc perfomcd StaiiieVs'Crucifixion' on Palm Siinday.
At pi'esent thei'e are 68 mcinbers on the electoral roll, 15 of wl)oin livc in tlie pari&h aiid 53 oulside.
During the year. tliere wa5 one baptisnL on¢ wcdding and two funerals.
Wc have contiiiued to maintain the database of email address¢5 which was established in 2020 and seiid

As froin 21si April 2024, three moinbers of our coiigregatioii sit on the Deaiiery Synod and report
back to the PCC on Jnatters discussed. See separale report on page 5.
Emgagement Ivith tbc conimunity
2024 was notsble for a 5cl.ies of soeial ¢vL'nts, maiiily fo¥ussiiig on Iniisie. Tlic%¢ cvcnls altla¢t¢d people
from the wider parish, llot just the congregation. We also held two popular quiz niglits and David
Glover gav¢ anothbr well attended talk. The m(Inthly commiinity coffee moi'nings contiiiue to be well
support¢d. A Craft group has also been introduced to which all m¢mbcrs of the community are welcome.
To attract the wider parish, we hcld both a Suiiimcr Fair and a Christnias Fair in cliurcli.
We took part iii tho Yorkshire14istDric Churches Open Day and the church was maniied to weleome and
infortn visiloiE. We als'o c]￿11red that tliE leaflet to l)elp visitors enjoy the higlilight of tlie churcli and
appreciate their significance to our form of worship. was available.
Thc Ukrainian churcli continiies to hold a monthly servioe at St Paul.
Wc maintain a good relatioiiship Witli Parkinson Lane Scl)ool. Tlie pupils Inake regular visits to the
cliui'ch and FadJLr Nigcl is a frequent visitor to tli¢ scliool. Father Nigel lias also becn invtted into
IN'arley Road scliool as well.
I'here is a wide rangc of books and CDS foi- aiiyon¢ lo borrow.
Saint Paul's is regibtered as a Fairtrade Chui'ch and all t¢4 coffee and sugar used at church are Fairtrade
products.
Land #nd buildings
The fabric of the chiirch continiied to be of concern. especially tlie roof. Fund17Tsing initiatives helped
raisc soine money together with individual donatjOll8. Thc PCC also explored other avenues for grants.
We maiiaged to rais¢ thc rnoney Th¢eded, artd work started on thc roof in October arkd was largely
coinpl¢t¢d by the eiid of 2024.
Work 011 th¢ oi'gan is continuing off-sito and it is hoped diat it will bc installed diiring the sunimer of
2025. Wc contiiiiie to use Uie loa]ied ¢lecttx)ni¢ organ iii tho interim.
