Although we have a rolling lease agreement with them and continued to pay our rent of £1,300 per quarter this did not stop them selling the site. We managed to get the Developer to agree that we could remain on the site but with a reduced green size and new Pavilion built in a new location. Planning permission was given to build a new 67-bedroom care Home with the amended Bowling Club site located behind the Home. Demolition of our existing Pavilion was carried out in February 2022 with a proposed completion date for all our works as April/ May 2023. We have been without a Pavilion and Green for the remainder of 2022. To keep the membership, we have had to play all our matches away and managed to hire a Council owned Bowling Green in Hinckley to play all our Triple League matched for 2 teams. This proved difficult as we had to share with an existing Bowling Club who didn’t want us there. We therefore couldn’t charge full fees for members, so our subscriptions were much lower at £1,140 and our only other income was an electrical refund od about £2. Expenditure was much higher at £6,976. Apart from Insurance and Capitation fees of about £1,300, the majority of our expenditure was on maintenance work on our green and surrounding hedges. Fortunately, we still had funds in reserve from grants received the previous financial year. We look forward to occupying our new Pavilion and green in 2023.
