## **Objectives and Activities**

The objective of the charity as specified in the trust deed is:

The prevention or relief of poverty or financial hardship anywhere in the world. Provide or assist in the provision of basic essentials such as food, clothing, medicine and sanitation. To advance education of orphans and children

## **Activities carried out to reach objectives**

The charity has implemented many projects and appeals in order to achieve its charitable objectives. This includes but is not limited to:

- Water Projects that provide fresh, clean water to those who would otherwise have difficult access to safe water. This includes hand pumps, water wells, solar water wells and water tankers

- Food Aid Projects – Supplying either hot meals or food packs around the globe

- Medical Aid in the form of medical kits and wheelchairs

- Educational Projects through our school in Bangladesh and Hifz Sponsorships

- Maintenance of our Mosque in Bangladesh

- Zakat Cash Distributions

- Yearly Ramadhan Projects

- Yearly Qurbani Project

- Eid Toys & Gifts Project

- Emergency Aid to various areas due to natural or man-made disasters

- Self-Sustainable Projects to help people maintain an on-going source of income

## **Achievements and performance**

The first year of being a registered charity was a learning curve for us all and we have been looking to expand our charity objectives. In order to fulfill these goals the charity has tried to expand its donor base. We have successfully launched a new website making it easier for the donors to select a campaign of their choice to fund, see our previous works and get to know more about the charity and contact us easily. We have also looked to increase our presence through social media where we can showcase previous and current projects and reach a wider audience. In this regard we also have set up appeals through fundraising sites which allows donors to fundraise on our behalf and reach a previously untapped base of generous people

The Trustees are very pleased with the amount of Water Aid Projects carried out in this time and this has been the most successful and popular appeal. We are also delighted that our Feed the World campaigns have been so positive and will look to continue implementing this project in the future

The Trustees are satisfied with and recognize the importance of having a website that makes access to the charity and its appeals easier and we are continuously maintaining and updating the site. The fundraising campaigns have also been a success and the charity will look to utilize this more

## **Looking ahead**

Looking ahead for the next year the main target of the charity is to maintain and build upon its first registered year. The basis and structure of the charity is being set and we hope to continue to be able to provide assistance wherever we can

One of the priorities for the coming year is to see if we can add some self-sustainable projects to our current list of appeals. We hope we can provide more people with different skill sets a way of providing their own income without having to rely on others

We would also like to implement a few more projects within the UK and look to continue with our Feed the World program for the near future

## **Structure, Governance and Management**

The charity is regulated by its trust deed dated 19 August 2020

The charity is run entirely on a voluntary basis and is overseen by Trustees who are appointed. Trustees are appointed through agreements with all other Trustees at a scheduled meeting where the topic is considered. The Trustees are expected to have good integrity, passion and commitment to carrying out the charity objectives. The current Trustees may seek help and guidance from others in regards to the background and character of a new Trustee before appointment

The charity also gets help from volunteers but does not employ or pay anyone for the work carried out (excluding re-imbursements)

## **Statement of Trustees responsibilities**

The Trustees are responsible for the overall running and maintenance of the charity. The Trustees are responsible for preparing the Trustees Annual Report and Financial statements in accordance to the relevant laws

The Trustees are also responsible for keeping proper accounting records, safeguarding the charity from risks, taking reasonable steps to prevent & detect any irregularities or frauds and follow & maintain all relevant applicable laws

## **Financial review and reserves policy**

The charity has had a successful initial year and if anything exceeded our initial expectations. Our income was a lot more than anticipated so were we able to implement a lot more projects than we originally projected

The main source of income for the charity was through charitable donations and the organization was also permitted to claim Gift Aid which helped cover all the running and admin costs, keeping the donations policy at 100%

The charity regularly has a small reserve policy to cover any unforeseen circumstances and in regards to the going concern for the charity it sees no issues for the continuance of the organization for the medium to long term future

## **Risk Assessment**

The Trustees regularly assess and review any major risks which the charity may face at its meetings. The Trustees are satisfied with all the systems in place and can report that no major risks were brought to attention this previous year and no immediate risks have been identified to the running of the charity for the foreseeable future

## **Trustees Conclusion**

The Trustees would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has helped us in our initial year to reach our charity objectives. This includes all donors, volunteers and the people who helped us implement all our projects

We are pleased to state that the charity was able to carry out many projects and reach a large population of people around the globe. We far exceeded what we thought would be our target for the year and we have built a strong base to continue our work for many years to come

The Trustees Annual Report was approved on:
