The Trustees are pleased to present their report, together with the financial statements for the period ending 30 September 2023.

STRUCTURE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT
The Charity is constituted as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation registered on the 28th of August 2020.
According to the Charity’s constitution, the Board of Trustees consists of at least three Trustees. All new Trustees will be provided with copies of:

The general meetings are held quarterly with any additional meetings held when required.
Public Benefit
The Trustees have considered the Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit. They confirm that in planning and carrying out the Charity’s activities they have had regard to this guidance.
OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES
For the public benefit; the relief of people with medically recognised limb difference or amputation by the provision of grants for specialist prosthesis, specialist equipment or services.

ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE
The past year has been a rewarding year for Positive Bones; from winning awards to awarding grants, the trustees are all very proud of what has been achieved, see a snapshot below.

Award Winning: In July 2023 Positive Bones was the proud recipient of the “Limb Loss Healthcare NPO of the Year 2023 - UK" at Acquisition International's Non-Profit of the Year Awards!

Awarding Grants: Since its launch in 2022 and to the end of this financial year we have awarded 10 people with grants of up to £3000.00 to purchase specialist equipment, services or prosthetics that enable them to do what they enjoy most. This has included:

A bionic arm for a young boy who wanted to be more independent at school and home and also wanted to be able to go fishing with his dad.

A lightweight wheelchair for an active woman who wanted to get back to the sports she enjoys, as well as discovering new ones, after becoming an amputee.

A tricycle for a mum with a lower limb disability who just wanted to go cycling with her son.

Fundraisers: We’ve been fortunate to have numerous fundraisers conducted on our behalf in this period including:

A mother and daughter duo walking a whopping 296 miles; Gail Ward and Anne Pemberton walked the coast of Cornwall raising money for various charities, including an incredible £410.00 for Positive Bones!

Cooci Associates took on the 3 Peaks Challenge and raised a whopping £1,603.95!

Sandy Bottoms Pumpkins chose Positive Bones as their annual charity for their 2022 Pumpkin Patch event raising £3,606.40!

As always we are extremely grateful for our supporters as they allow us to continue supporting those that need it.

2023 Rehabilitation Conference: We were delighted to be invited to 2023’s rehabilitation conference, it was a great opportunity to network and meet others in the field. Since the conference we have been able to make a number of very useful connections including those within the charity sector so that we may better support our community.

New Sponsor: We are very pleased to announce our first official sponsor, Attren! A fashion brand whose CEO is an amputee and wanted to give back to his community. We have been working hard on building our business connections this year to try and garner sponsorship and will be continuing to work on this as we move into 2024.

Rehab Outreach: After a very successful rehab outreach collaborative effort we have now managed to make a larger number of private and public rehab centres aware of what Positive Bones does and how we can help. This has seen an uptick in applications for a much wider range of items.

Meeting with our grant recipients : We have managed to meet with a number of our grant recipients since they have received their items which has been a great opportunity not only to hear their insights on how they found the process with Positive Bones but also how they are doing since they have received their grant. This is something we will continue in the future.
PLANS FOR THE FUTURE
We have a number of exciting and beneficial future plans for the next year - - PB 4 PB : This was unfortunately not possible for 2022-23 so we will be working towards it in the next period. We plan on launching an inclusive and yearly fundraising and awareness campaign, allowing people to pick their own challenge and beat their personal best (PB). This could be anything from knitting as much as possible to running further than ever before, it’s totally up to the fundraiser. - Sponsorship (cont.): To increase our income so we can help more people and maintain our support we want to reach out to businesses and charities that provide grants to charities in the hopes of arranging monetary sponsorship.

Grants: Continue providing grants and should funding allow, increase the amount of grants we can provide.

Meta Donation Button (ongoing): To make it easier for our social media followers to provide support to Positive Bones we plan to set-up with Meta (Facebook and Instagram) a donation button that can be applied to key posts.
Finally, we want to continue supporting the limb difference and limb loss community by providing more people with the opportunity to be limitless in the things they enjoy!

The Charity’s principal sources of funding are: Fundraising events
Grants and donations
PayPal is our chosen host for gathering online donations and charges 2.9% + GBP £0.30p on every donation.
The total receipts amounted to £8,160.61 and, after payments of £13,033.37 the net receipts for the period amounted to -£4,872.76
The Trustees consider the period end financial position to be satisfactory and confirm that the Charity can meet all known obligations.
Reserves
At the period end the Charity’s bank balance totalled £22,131.25.
