Objective5 and Activitie5
The principal objective of the Church is the advancement of the Christian faith according to the
principles of the Baptist denomination. The Church rnay also advance edUcat￿n and cary out other
charitable purposes in the United Kingdom and/or other parts of the world.

The Church has not undertaken any activtties during thts period.

Structure. Govemance and Management
Throughout many years the Church has operated as a-charitable Unincorporated Association" with
the charity recognised an "excepted chariV wtth no requirement to register and constituted under
a Constitution adopted on 12 March 2(KY3. On 18 June 2020 the Church approved a new
Constitution, based on a template for a "Charitable Incorporated Organisation" ICIOI produced by
the Baptist Union. working in conjunction with the Charity Commission. Application was made to the
Charity Commission to register a new charity and this was completed on 26 August 2020. We intend
to transfer all the assets and artivities from the "Charitable Unincorporated Association" to the
"Charitable Incorporated Organi5ation" in due course.
The trustees who have served during the year are set out on page l. Trustees are elected by
members of Uckfield Baptlst Church and serve for a period of three years after whith time they may,
if willing, be nominated again and stand for re-elertion for another tenn of offi￿. A break of at least
one year must then be taken before they can stand for re£lettion again. The minister remains a
trustee until the end of his ministry with this church. Trustees meet monthly and members,
meetings are held 4 times a year with the Annual General Meeting being held in May.
