Objective5 and Artivities
The principal objective of the Church is the advancernent of the Christian frdith according to the
principle5 of the Baptist denomination. The Church may also advance education and carry out other
charitable purposes in the UnÈted Kingdom and/or other parts of the world.

The Church has not undertaken any activtties during this period.

Structure. GovernaD¢e and Management
Throughout many years the Church has operated as a "Charitable Unincorporated Association" with
the charity recogni5ed an "excepted chariV with no requirement to register and constituted under
a Constitution adopted on 12 March 21JW. On 18 June 2020 the Church approved a new
Constitution, based on a template for a "Charitable Incorporated Organisation" ICIOI produced by
the Baptist Union, working in conjunction with the Charty CommÉssion. Application was made to the
Chartty Commission to ￿gIster a new charty and this was completed on 26 August 2020. We intend
to transfer all the assets and actNtties from the-charttable Unintorporated Association" to the
"Charitsble Incorporated Organi5ation" in due course.
The trustees who have seNed during the year are set out on page l. Trustees are elected by
members of Uckfield Baptist Church and serve for a period of three years after which time they may.
if willin& be nominated again and stand for re-election for another temi of office. A break of at least
one year must then be tsken before they can stand for re-elettion again. The minister remains a
trustee until the end of his ministry with this church. Trustee5 meet monthty and members,
meetings are held 4 times a year with the Annual General Meeting being held in May.
