The Climalescience Community Leadership team of Continental Coordinators and Outreach leads conducted a global campaun via %)cial media which increased from 20 in 202110 45 communities in 2022. In 2021, our community fomat was a hybrid {online-offlin8) model. In 2022. we introduced both physical and online communities. An online community was C￿ated on Discord and currently hosts over 6,000 people who leam aLM)ul climate change and prepare for the ClimateScien￿ Olympiad. Physical communities were launched in Bogola, Colombia and New Delhi, India. The Climatescience Olympiad, a year-long global competition for youlh between the ages of 12 and 25 inclusive, asks participants questions that World ￿aderS would usually fa￿, empowers them to grow into the clirNate-COnSCIOUS leadership roles they may wish to tske up later in their careers. A number of partnerships were formed to increase reach and engagement, notably with Earthday.org, the Ecoschools neiwork, and Ihe govemment of Fiji. A significant number of participants, 25,000, were introduced to the competition via partnership with an Indian promotional organization. The Olympiad team hired a dedicated customer care specialist and rebuilt the judging platform lo handle increased capacity 8nd the new rnulti-round lormat. In 2022 the emphasis was on establishing a variety of partnerships lo support the dissemlnalion of a range of edu¢alional malerials. We beI￿ve the aclivilies and achievements se¢lion above illustrales how much tho charity was able to accomplish on a very limited budggt. The major risk lacing (he charity durin9 2022 was the need to raise fundin9 to allow the Charity lo continue lo operate al this level in lulure years. To date the Charity has successfully raised enough lo expand ils paid core team of contractors, and il is hoped Ihal this will enable il lo raise further funds in years ahead. Future Plans Climate Science expects lo entl 2023 with a 9￿ater locus on accelerating the capacty of youth lo help solve climate change by providing them with qualty education and opportunities to engago in climate action. The Charity is iterating on its user experience design to engage th¢)se wrth a variety of reasons for wanting to learn to solve climaie change. Climate Science will continue lo urMJ81e its courses following the release of the IPCC'S Ilnlergovernmenlal Panel on Climate Changel Sixth Assessment Reports. Translations of thesg updated content shall follow and will expand to at least three MO￿ languages by the end 012023. Additionally, the Charity will be iteratively changing the structure of its courses and making changes to the course plaffomi to improve user retention and user experience. The Charity also intends lo re-develop the Climalescience 8PP, creating short. Simple. gamified ¢x)urses for the platfomi. The Charity expects the Climatescience Olympiad 2023 to reach over 50,000 youth from over 190 countries, generating over 500 prorx)sals for solving specific climale challenges. As in 2022, Climate Science intends to hold the Climatescience Olympiad's award ￿remonY al COP28 in Dubai with plans for this lo be the first award ceremony where all top 10 wnners wll attend the Conference of Parties in person and tske part in various processes. The Charity will continue to support the establishment of IcKal communities and school clubs. The New Delhi community in India served as a pilol for physical. local communities globally. The Charity intends to grow lo 10 more physical, city communities in 2023 and to grow the online Discord comrnunity to involve 15.000 people who engage in W￿klY leaming events. The Charity also aims for the Grealion of cty ClimateS¢ien¢e hubs through local partnerships, to ¢￿ale venues for local events and activation. Fundraising goals target sufficient recurring funding, primarily through granis and donations, to SUPPDrt ongoing management stabilty while ensuring the conlinued production and promulgation of high-quality education81 content worldwide, for free.

At the same time expendilure fell by £20k to £109k12021-. £129k) resulling in a deficit of £28k for the pericml much reduced from the 2021 deficit of £63k. Thè charity continues to dèvelop an opèrating m(Klel to ensurè long temi sustainability by genèrating income from a variety of sources including grants and donab'ons as well as fees lor courses and events. While this remains a challenging area. the Trustees believe the achievements listed above show the charity can deliver an incredible amount on a small budget due to the talent and commitment of the volunteer team and are optimistic this will help lo attract fundeTS in luture. Reserves Reserves are shown in the Balance Sheet as unrestricted funds carried forward. This is simply the excess of unreslricled fijnds raised over expenditure SIr￿e the charities launch. The toial amount of reseryes held at 31 December 2022 was £28k12021'. £57kl which is equal to just over 3 months expenditure based on the numbers in these accounts. The trustees consider this sufficient for the current operating model as the charity has onty limiled orooing financial commitments. As the charity's trustees (and also its directors for the purposes of company law) you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”).

Having satisfied myself that the accounts of the Company are not required to be audited under Part 16 of the Companies Act 2006 and are eligible for independent examination, I report in respect of my examination of your charity's accounts as carried out under section 145 of the Charities Act 2011 ('the 2011 Act'). In carrying out my examination I have followed the Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5) (b) of the 2011 Act.

An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from you as trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a ‘true and fair view’ and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statements below.
