Mixed ages and genders.<br>•<br>Organised an Intervillage Jubilee Party for all.<br>110 villagers of all ages.|

A<br>gathering of the families afterwards in the<br>stable yard of the local public house to<br>exchange stories and record them.  This was<br>at the specific request of the people in the<br>community.  One residents concerns were<br>respectfully addressed.<br>•<br>A History Point established at the memorial<br>stone to tell the stories of the Fallen.<br>•<br>Village Remembrance Service and<br>participation in the local ‘Poppies on Doors’<br>campaign.<br>•<br>8 week long, village wide environmental<br>project to revive the village stream that had<br>become blocked and devoid of life.  Aquatic<br>life now abundant.<br>•<br>2 x Christmas Wreath workshops<br>•<br>Village Outdoor Christmas Party round the<br>Tree.<br>•<br>Building and maintaining a Village Garden<br>together<br>•<br>Village Campfire Gathering to discuss<br>projects.<br>•<br>Community Consultation on the development<br>of the Bank in the Village to encourage<br>Planting for Pollinators. |Contribution made by volunteers|Para 1.38|Across Glanwydden and Llangwstenin we can<br>count around 150 residents. Some 52 households<br>are connected to our Whatsapp network and all<br>households are leafletted regularly to ensure<br>awareness of the whys and wherefores of<br>upcoming community projects.<br>As a result, the larger projects such as the Village<br>Market and the Jubilee Party can call upon around<br>25 – 30 volunteers at any one time.  That said<br>there is a smaller core of dedicated volunteers of 6<br>– 10 who turn out more regularly to ensure that<br>everyone can access village events and the village<br>infrastructure is well maintained.<br>All our projects are reliant on volunteers<br>contributions of skills and resources.|

## **Achievements and Performance** 

|Summary of the main<br>achievements of the charity,<br>identifying the difference the<br>charity’s work has made to the<br>circumstances of its beneficiaries<br>and any wider benefits to society<br>as a whole.|Para 1.20|The Glanwydden & Valley Community Trust has<br>been in development since at least 2014 in an<br>unofficial capacity, supporting all who live, work<br>and pass through this area.  However, none of us<br>could have predicted how important the Trust<br>would become in actively supporting the health,<br>safety and wellbeing of the villagers, workers and<br>those who came through the village during the<br>Covid pandemic.<br>This community has had a commitment to marking<br>Royal Milestones over at least 100 years.<br>Something which is not necessarily reflected in<br>nearby communities.  Each milestone has brought<br>great communal effort and has been documented<br>over the decades.<br>In light of HM the Queen’s 70 years on the throne,<br>it was agreed that the whole village would mount a<br>3 week, 5 Event Festival called the Spring Jubilee.<br>•<br>6 months of preparations went into planting<br>areas and tubs, tidying up the village<br>•<br>planning the Village Charity Farmers<br>market & Festival.<br>•<br>Huge amounts of effort went into planning<br>the successful intervillage Football<br>tournament including working with the Local<br>Authority, Conwy County Borough Council<br>to make a new 6 a side football pitch for the<br>occasion.<br>•<br>Stronger intervillage links were made that<br>continue to benefit new projects<br>•<br>Our connection with North Wales Wildlife<br>Trust (NWWT) was strengthened again|

• History of the Village was embraced & understood once more across all generations with the planning and laying of the Memorial Stone. • Huge efforts, some 27 individuals, made towards carefully clearing the stream at the heart of the village of blockages and silt. This has undoubtedly helped towards flood prevention and improvement for stream ecology but has once again brought people together in these shared and significant goals.

As such, it is keen to<br>ensure that soon we can erect a very small community<br>hub that can be extended by awnings and tents for<br>community events. Much of the funding raised,<br>principally by the Village Market will be targeted at the<br>Village Hub Building which is ongoing in 2023.<br>**Picnic Bench**- £500 and £250 in community project<br>grants were realised from the Rail Users Group and<br>Cynefin respectively towards the Picnic Bench, some<br>raffle funds from 2021 were added and additional<br>funds raised to pay for a robust and weather resistant<br>picnic bench paid for in March 2022 and delivered in|





|||May 2022. Recognition of cross community buy in for<br>the project.<br>**Noticeboard**– the community noticeboard was poorly<br>positioned and falling apart.  Through fundraising and<br>consultation it was agreed to purchase a robust,<br>weather resistant enclosed noticeboard which was<br>installed in September 2022.|

The Village Market was a<br>great success and incorporated tombolas, raffles<br>and produce stalls that generated a very<br>substantial income in 2022. Villagers are notified of impending Trust<br>meeting dates and encouraged to participate in<br>person and on Zoom and voice opinions at any<br>stage.
