Hope Yorkshire - REPORT OF THE TRUSTEES AND UNAUDITED FINANCIAL STATEMENTS FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 MARCH 2021.
The trustees present their report with the financial statements of the charity for the year ended 31 March 2021.
The trustees have adopted the provisions of the Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP) 'Accounting and Reporting by Charities' issued in March 2005. REFERENCE AND ADMINISTRATIVE DETAILS Registered Charity number 1190949.

STRUCTURE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT
Governing document: The charity is controlled by its governing document (the constitution), a deed of trust, and constitutes an unincorporated charity.
Organisational structure: The strategic direction and management of the charity is governed by the trustees.
Risk management: The trustees have a duty to identify and review the risks to which the charity is exposed and to ensure appropriate controls are in place to provide reasonable assurance against fraud and error.
OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES
The charity was established in order to support Woman and their children going through domestic violence, unemployment, mental/physical ill health, food/fuel poverty & other Social Problems, running activities face both face to face & online. We also run projects to provide food & essential items for the vulnerable and most in need with a view of launching a community food bank.
It is governed by the constitution document which has not been amended since the charity was formed. Its purposes are:

to provide a food parcel, clothes, essentials and fuel tops to sustain a family for 7 days (quantities are dependent upon the size of the family.)

for the relief of women and girls who are in need by reason of youth, age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship, or other disadvantages

Signposting individuals to organisations who provide counselling and support

Providing clothing, furniture, food and essential items and subsidised transport

Providing volunteering opportunities to gain work experience’.
The charity's trustees have complied with the duty in section 4 of the 2006 Act to have due regard to public benefit guidance published by the Charity Commission.

Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner
The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The charity's trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year (under Section 144(2) of the Charities Act 2011 (the 2011 Act). It is my responsibility to: examine the accounts under Section 145 of the 2011 Act to follow the procedures laid down in the General Directions given by the Charity Commission (under Section 145(5)(b) of the 2011 Act); and to state whether matters have come to my attention.
My examination was carried out in accordance with the General Directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts and seeking explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention: (1) which gives me reasonable cause to believe that, in any material respect, the requirements to keep accounting records in accordance with Section 130 of the 2011 Act; and to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and to comply with the accounting requirements of the 2011 Act have not been met; or (2) to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
