The Trustees present their report together with the financial statements of the The Jane Goodrnan Charitable
Trust for the year ended 31 August 2022. The annual report serves the purposes of both a trustees, report
and a directors, report under company law. The Trustees confirm that the annual report and financlal
statements of the charitable company comply with the current statutory requirements, the requirements of
the charitable company's governing document and the provisions of the Statement of Recommended
Practice ISORPI applicable to charities preparrng their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting
standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland {FRS1021 (effective l January 2019),
The Trustees present the annual report together with the financial statements of the charlty for the year
ended 31 August 2022.

Trustees.

and areas of Jewish interest. If possible, the Trustees wish to keep the name of the late Jane Goodman alive
by naming facilitles, structures and bursarie5 after her, or receiving publi¢ )¢knowledgements of the glft,
hlghlighting her name.

During the year, the Charity commltted to making the following donatlons after the balance sheet date.'_
• Holocaust Learning UK - £10,000 per annum In November of each year from 2022 to 2024. An addltlonal
É20,000 donatlon was a9reed to cover the costs of filming survivor testimonles and £70,000 for a further
doculllm.
• Llmmud - agreed to make four annual donations of £IO.000 per annum from 2022.
The Estate ol the Late Jane Goodman has allocated fvnds aside to provide to the charlty when the above
commited donations are requlred to be paid.

GoSng concern
After making appropriate enqulrles, the Trustees have a reasonable expectation that the Charity has
adequate resources to continue in operational existence for the fO￿seeable future. For this reason, they
continue to adopt the going concern basis in preparing the financial statements. Further detalls regarding
the adoption of the going concern basis can be found in the accounting policies.
b. Reserv•s poll
The Trustees aim to maintain reserves at a level whlch would tover any future committments or
expenditure. The Trustees consider that the amoLFnt of reserves will dictate futu￿ donatlons and will consist
of donations ￿ceiVed by the charity which are yet to be donated to Individual charlties and causes.
The reserves at the end of the finanaal year were in deficit by E162.90712021 £12,936 5urplusl.

The charity is primarily funded by the estate of the late )ane Goodman.

The management of the Charity is the responsibility of the Trustees who are elerted and co-opted under the
terms of the Trust Deed.

The Trustees (who are also the directors of the Charoty for the purposes of company law) are responslble for
preparing the Trustees, report and rhe financial statements in acctsrdance with applicable law and United
Kingdom Accountlng Standards (United Kln9dom Generally A¢¢epted Accounting Practice).
Company law requlres the Trustees to prepare financial stotements for each financial year ended. Under
company law, the TrtJstee5 must not approve the financial statements unless they a￿ satisfied that they
give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the Charity and of its incoming resources and application of
resources, Including its income and expendlture, for that year. In prtparlng these hnan¢lal statements, the

I report to the Charity Trustees on my examination of the accounts of the Charity for the year ended 31
August 2022.

As the Trustees of the Charity (and its dirertor5 for the purposes tsf company lawl you are responslble for
the preparatitsn of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Companies Act 2006 I'the 2006
Act'l.
Having satlsfied myself that the accounts of the Chanty are not required to be audited under Part 16 of the
2006 Act and are eliglble for independent examination. l ￿port in respect of my examlnatlon of the Charity's
acctsunt5 carried out under sertlon 145 of the Charitie5 Act 2011 I'the 2011 Act'l. In carrylng out my

Ttrte principal objertives of the Charity are to make grants to individuals and organlsatitsns.
The Jane Goodman Charitable Trust is a private company. limited by guarantee without share capital,
registered in England and Wales, registratlon number 12818564. The registered office address Is CIO
Cllntons, 2 St Glles Square, London. WC2H 8AP.

2.1 8•$ls of prep•ration of flnJTrclal statements
The financial statements have been prepared In attordance with the Charlties SORP IFRS 1021
Accountin9 and Reporting by Charities= Statement of Recommended Practlce applicable to
charities preparing their o¢¢ounts in accordance wtth the Firbancial Reporting Standard applicable
in the UK and Republic of Ireland IFRS 102) {effective l )anuary 20191, the Financial Reporting
Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland IFRS 1021 and the Companies Act 2006.
The Jane Goodman Charltable frust meets the definitlon of a public benefit entity under FRS 102.
Assets and liabilities are initially recognised at historical c05t or transaction value unless
otherwise stated in the relevant accounting policy.
A5 Part of the last will and testimony of the late Jane Goodman, any remainlng funds after
dlstributing to named Individuals would be donated to a number of charities. In order to lacilltate
this request, the administrators of the estate incorporated this Charity to dlstribute these funds.
The financial statements ol the charitable company present only the donation income actually
received from the estate when a payment obligation falls due. Once the administrators have been
able to ftslly w5nd up the estate in good order, the remainino funds wlll be transferred to the
charSty for its ongoing charitable purposes.
2.2 Golng concern
Whilst the Trustees app￿clate there Is slgnificant uncertainty surroLrnding the future economlc
climate and are expecting the consequential indirert effect of market volatility, the Charity is well
placed tts address these impocts. The Trustees a￿ satisfied that the charity will be able t0 5atlsfy
its financial obligations for at least 12 months fvom the date of signature of the financlal
statements, whlch have been prepared on the golng concern basls.
2.3 1n¢om•
All income is recognised once the Charity has entitlement to the Income, it is probable that the
Income will be received and the amount of Income recelvable can be rneasu￿d reliably.
Grant5 are included in the Statement of Financial Activities on a receivable ba515. The balance of
incorne received for specific purposes but not expended during the period is shown in the ￿levant
funds on the Balance Sheet. whe￿ income is received in advance of entitlement of receipt, its
recognltlon is deferred and included in creditors as deferred income. Where entitlement occurs
before income is received, the income is accrued.

2.4 Expenditure
Expenditure is recognised once there is a legal or constructive obligatlon to transfer economlc
benefit to è third party, it is probable that a transfer of economic benefits will be requlred Sn
settlement and the amount of the obligation can be measured reliably. Expenditure is cla$5ified
by activity. The costs of each artivity are made up of the total of d1￿ct costs and shared cost5,
includin9 SUPPOrt costs involved in untdertaking each activity. Direct costs attributable to a single
activity are allocated directly to that activity. Shared costs which contribute to more than one
activity and support ctysts which are not attributable to a single activlty are apportioned between
those activities on a basis consistent with the use of resources. Central staff costs are allocated
on the ba515 of tirne spent, and depreciation charyes allocated on the portion of the a55et's use,
Expenditure on charitable activities is incurred on directly undertakin9 the activlties which further
the Charity's objertives, as well as any a$$￿1)tel support costs.

2.5 Cash at bank •nd In hand
Cash at bank arbd in hand includes cash and short-term highly liquid Investments with a short
maturity ol three months or le55 from the date of acquisition or opening of the deposlt or slmilèr
account.
2.6 Llabllltl•s and provl*lons
Llabllities are recognised when there is an obligation at the Balance Sheet date as a result of a
pèst event, it is probable that a transfer of economic benefit wlll be required in settlement, and
the amount of the settlement can be estimated rellably.
Liabilities are recognised at the amount that the Charity anticipates it wlll pay to settle the debt
or the omount it ha5 received 05 advanced payment5 for the goods or Services it must provide.
ProvlsSons are measured at the best estlmate of the amounts requlred to settle the obligatlon.
Where the effect of the tsme value of money is matersal, the provision Is based on the present
value of those amounts, discounted at the pre-tax discount rate that reflects the risks specific to
the liability. The unwinding of the discount is recognised in the Statement of Financial Activitie5
a5 a finance cost.
2.7 Flnanclal ifftstruments
The Charity only has financial assets and financial liabilities of a kind that qualify as bas*c financial
instruments. Basic financial instruments are initially recognised at transaction value and
subsequently measured at their settlement value with the exception of bank loans which a
subsequently measured at amortised c05t using the effective interest method.
2.8 Fund accountln9
General funds are unrestricted funds which are available for Use at the discretion of the Trustees
in furtherance gf the general obje¢tives of the Charity arbd which have not been designated for
other purposes.
