## **2. Structure, Governance and Management** 

Lions Club of Huddersfield is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) governed by its constitution. 

Trustees are appointed in accordance with the constitution and serve on a voluntary basis. Day-to-day decisions are made by the membership including the trustees. 

## **3. Objectives and Activities** 

The Club’s objective is to serve the community of Huddersfield and surrounding areas through volunteer-led charitable activity. This includes organising events, supporting local causes, and raising awareness of needs in the community. 

Our main public benefit is promoting the welfare of individuals and groups by addressing issues such as health, isolation, and education through practical and financial support. 

## **4. Achievements and Performance** 

Key achievements in the year included: 

- Collecting used spectacles for international redistribution 

- Distributing Easter hampers to local schools to raise funds 



- Organising the Brighouse Brass Band Contest, one of the largest in the UK 

- Our Secretary doing a sky dive to raise funds for a local charity 

## **5. Financial Review** 

The charity remains financially sound, with income from donations, fundraising events, and member contributions. 

A prudent approach is taken to managing reserves. Funds are used efficiently in accordance with the Club’s objectives.

## **6. Funds Held and Investment Policy** 

The Lions Club of Huddersfield CIO holds funds in two community charity bank accounts. No investment activities were undertaken in the year. 

## **7. Plans for Future Periods** 

Plans include: 

- Expanding PSA testing and health awareness events 

- Increasing visibility to attract new members and volunteers 

- Enhancing our digital presence 

- Continuing support for local families, schools and international causes through targeted donations
