Trustees Annual report for the year ended 30th June 2023

AcCviCes and achievements during the year

DonaSons have been made to various local and internaSonal chariSes. These are from funds that are generally unrestricted apart from a collecSon specifically for Macmillan Caring Locally and public collecSons for the Bournemouth Women's Refuge. AddiSonally, donaSons are made from investments acquired following the Marjorie Gordon bequest. The laBer are restricted to the eradicaSon of poliomyeliSs or such other disease as the trustee shall decide. In addiSon to that the trustees shall make available funds for the relief of poverty in Africa. and, in parScular, to ensure money is provided for the educaSon of children in Africa.

Decision-making

Members of the CIO work within a commiBee structure and will consider and will consider any applicaSon for a charitable grant within the CIO's objecSves which are widely drawn. Once any applicaSon is researched a recommendaSon is made to the trustees who then make grants and donaSons by majority decision, although they always aim for unanimous agreement.

Investment policy

The trustees seek a cauSous and safe investment approach for the Margery Gordon bequest. The pordolio is managed on a day-to-day basis by Charles Stanley, Stockbrokers. The trustees review performance with Charles Stanley at regular intervals.

Reserves

The trustees have developed plans to allow them to conSnue to make donaSons in the medium to long term. In line with the restricSons set out in the Marjorie Gordon request.

Major risks

There are no risks to the conSnuaSon of the trust.

The trustees approved this report on 17[th] April 2024.
