The Trustees present their r¢port together with the accounts for the year ended 31 st Aug7USI
2024. The Trustees have adopted (he provisions of the Statem¢ni of Recommended Praclice
(SORP) 'Ac¢ounting 2005 and other applicable laws.
Structure Governance and Mana
ement
Kotelo Mbekeni Foundation was registered as a Charilable Incorporat¢d Organisation on, 14th
August 2020, with charity number 1190857.
Method of appointment or el¢etion of Trustees
Trusl¢es are elecled from the membership in accordance with the charity's constÉtution.

Policies Yddopted for the induction and training of Trustees
The induction process for any new'ly appointed member of the Trustees comprises of an initial
meeting w'ith the chair and other Truslees, infom)ation booklets are made available and referral
to Charity commission website is also encouraged.
Organisational structure and deeision-making
The Charity is organised 50 that the Trustees meet regularly to administer ils affairs. There is
an administrator / account personnel that handles the daily affairs of the Charity.

The Trustees have assess¢d the major risks to which the Charity is exposed, in particular those
related to the operations and finances of the Charity. and are satisfied that systems are in pla¢e
to mitigate our exposure to the major risks.

Policies and Obje¢tiv¢s
The charity has three main obj¢cts'.
To advance education for the public benefit by providing assistance to support schools
in underprivileged areas of South Afri¢4 Eastern Cape with school uniforn]s.
transportation to school, teaching materials and equipment for educalion and sports
facilities:
> to relieve financial hardship by providing assislance to ory)hanages in Gauteng
province, Johannesburg and Pretoria in South Africa to provide facilities and support
for education. and
to promote social inclusion for the public benefit in the Cambridge area and London bv
preventing people from becoming socially excluded, reli¢i'ing the needs of those people
who are socially excluded and assisting them to integrate into society through the use
of sport, in partlcular, but not limited to football. For the purpose of this clause 'socially
excluded". means beingT excluded from society, or part5 of so¢iely. as a result of them
being homeless or as a resuli of their ill health (mental or phvsical).

Strategies for achieving objectives
The Charity. IMS adopted the following strategies for achiei'ing the above charitable objects:
Regularly holding meetings to eN'aluate ils objectives. seeking updates from the Support for
Community & Voluntary Groups (CCVS); organising fundraising ei'ents to fulfil the objectives
sel. and reaching oul lo more people through various events.

In line with the objects of the Charity, to advance education. relieve financial hardship and
promote social inclusion, the Charity has a policy of supporting organisations promoling
physical and mental wellbeing.
Volunteers
The charity is graieful for the good efforts of its volunteers who are involved in service
provision. The Charil), has a volunteer coordinator to ensure thai best value is derived from the
sterling efforts of our volunteers.

Achievements and Performanee
a) Review of Activities
The Chariiy has successfully assisl¢d to the needs of various social gTOUPS. especially in the
UK..
The charity supported organisations such as Reach Out Autism. This goes in line with our
objective to relieve financial hardship and promote social inclusion.
The charity also registered for the Annual Football Tournament within the Cambridge
community. This is to engage and encourage mental health, to integrate with the communtty
lo minimise or ellminate stigm4 promote health and fitness, and boost community spiril.
Financlal Review
a) Reserves Policy
The Trustees have esthblished a policy whereby the unrestricted funds not committed or
invested in tangible fixed assets ('the free reserves,) held by the charity should be used
according to th¢ objectives pre-detennined and the urgency of the situation. In doing so, the
trustees feel that the funds will be objectively used.
b) Principal Funding
Funding was provtded matnly through donations from the charity members and from the
general public.
Plans for the Future
The Charity aims to continue to provide aulisrn school in South Africa ￿'ith monthly meals as
well as supplying food parcels to orphans. The charity also intends to keep working with
organisations such as Reach Oui Autism as well as promoiing social incluslon, mental and
phvsical health by organising sports events and Meetings. Lastly. the Charity is also looking to
grow in membership and continue to develop its members to make a life-changing impact on
society.

We have examined the financial statements on pages 2 to l O which have been pr¢pared in accordance
with ihe accounting policies set out on page 5.
Respective responsibilities of the trystees and independent examiDer
The charity trustees are responsible for ihe preparaiion of the financial stalements.
The Irustees consider thal an audit is not required for this year (under section 144 (2) of the charities
(Act 2011) {the 2011 act).
It is our responsibility to:
examin¢ the accounts (under section 145 of the 201 l Act;
rollow the procedur¢s laid down in the General Directions given by the Charity Commission
(under section 145(5Xb) of the 2011 Act: and
to state whether particular matters have Come lo our attention.
Basis of iDdepeDdellt examiner's report
Our examination was carried out in accordance wilh th¢ General Directions given by the Charity
Cotnmission. An exatnination includes a review of the accounting records kept bsll the organisation
and a comparison of the accounts presented with those rL'cords. It also includes ¢onsideration of unusual
items or disclosures in ihe accounts and, seeking explanation from you as trustees con¢¢rning any such
matters. The pn)cedures undertaken do not provide all the eviden¢¢ ihat would be required in an audit
and consequently, We do tlot express an audit opinion on the view given by the accounts.
