ANNUAL REPORT OF THE BATCHCOMBE TRUST
For Year Ending 31 December 2021
A CIO, registered number 1190817 ( the Charity )
The Charity was incorporated in August 2020 with the objective of raising local support and funding to acquire, restore and manage for the public benefit 12.5 acres of neglected former fruit farm known as Batchcombe Fruit Farm, Storridge, Herefordshire, which had been available for sale for some years from a private owner. The land is located in an attractive and secluded part of the Malvern Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Principally because of the emergence of the pandemic 2020/2021, and difficulties in securing sufficient local support, the Charity has been unable to fulfil its principal object of acquiring and bringing about the restoration of the relevant land and assets.
During its first full financial year, the Charity acquired no assets and incurred no liabilities whatsoever, and that remains the case up to the date of this report.
There are only two members of the Charity, Paul Mountain and Timothy Dixon, who are also the only trustees.
The Chair has proposed that the Charity be dissolved, and a resolution to that effect has been prepared and is expected to be signed and submitted to the Charity Commission shortly.
Signed
Paul Mountain, Chair of Trustees
