|The leadership<br>team met to discuss the next step forward<br>in the life ofthe church<br>and how we could||
|continue to work out our mission statement<br>in the life of our church;<br>in|particular,<br>we focussed<br>on the|
|area of Pastoral Care within the church community.<br>In October, we held a CMM to discuss how we could||
|further develop<br>Pastoral<br>Care, especiaily<br>with those members<br>who were|not part of a home group. The|
|membership<br>recognised<br>that building<br>strong relationships<br>was the key.|It is an area that we will always|
|need to return to as we will never reach perfection!||
|Policies:||
|Over the year, the Safeguarding<br>policy was updated<br>to ensure<br>children|were kept safe whilst engaged|
|with online learning<br>and activities.||
|The GDPR policy was flnalised<br>and adopted<br>by the church —particularly|pertinent<br>to the changing<br>ways|
|people's<br>personal<br>data is stored.||
|The church became quite skilled<br>in writing<br>and updating<br>Risk Assessments!<br>These were needed<br>for all||
|activities that took place within the church premises, sothat we could offer the safest protection<br>possible||
|to those who attended,<br>As the restrictions<br>changed<br>over the year, so we|updated<br>our RA and associated|
|practices accordingly.||
|Premises||
|During the year new flooring was laid in our large hall and double-glazed|windows<br>installed.<br>This means|
|that all ofour halls now have bright and clear windows,<br>Roofing quotes were collected forthe area above||
|the lounge<br>in the main church<br>building<br>and some work was carried out to repair leaks.||
|Insurance<br>checks were completed,<br>and a list ofjobs is being compiled<br>ready for five-year electrical check.||
|Enhanced<br>cleaning<br>routines<br>with additional<br>hours were needed<br>ln order|to clean between the different|
|groups<br>using the premises, to reduce the possible cross contamination<br>of COVID from one group to the||
|next. Sometimes,<br>this meant<br>cleaning<br>late<br>in the evening to make the|rooms ready for the following|
|morning.||
|Members'<br>Meetings and Prayer meetings||
|Our members'<br>meetings<br>were mostly held online during 2021to allow as many people to attend as||
|possible,<br>including<br>those who were medically vulnerable.<br>When we began to meet in person<br>during the||
|autumn,<br>we found<br>It difficult to be quorate when there were issues that|needed<br>a vote. As a result, we|
|decided that it was important<br>to only hold a meeting<br>when there were important<br>issues for discussion||
|or voting,<br>If it was just information,<br>we could do that through<br>email. We|began to try and ensure that|
|meetings<br>were relevant<br>and inspiring<br>and well-advertised.<br>We also began to check through<br>the||
|membership<br>list —something<br>we had first started just before Covid shut|the buildings —to consider|
|how best to approach<br>folk who were members<br>and had moved away but|not resigned their|
|membership.||
|During this time, we moved from hosting communion<br>in our own homes|while we joined the services|
|on Zoom, to purchasing<br>disposable<br>cups with wafers that would<br>minimise|contact. We moved from|
|recorded<br>music to experimenting<br>with some live music which proved very popular.||
