focused on making**small research grant**
**awards**to support student**qualitative**
research projects on diabetes/CVD care in
ethnically diverse populations. One £100
grant was awarded to a student enrolled on
the MSc Health Psychology course, at
Liverpool John Moores University. Her
project focused on the role of midwives in
managing medication misuse in pregnant
women. Misuse of medication during
pregnancy is especially problematic for
women at risk of gestational diabetes| |||(GDM) (whose prevalence is higher in
ethnic minority groups). The project is due
for submission/assessment August through
September 2025 and is expected to benefit
our understanding of how best midwives
can manage medication misuse during
pregnancy (with direct implications for
ethnically diverse pops, especially those at
risk of GDM).
