volunteers|Para 1.38|In Spring/Summer 2021 the charity offered
research-based eHealth work placements.
We recruited tech savvy**volunteers**to use
social media to promote published research
findings that help improve the lives of BAME
people living with diabetes and other chronic
illnesses. These volunteers were highly
motivated UK university undergraduates.
Most placements entailed working from
home (WFH), and typically involved eHealth
activities, meaning using information and
communications technologies to promote
health, by raising awareness. Most
volunteers were involved in developing
anonymised audio-only YouTube videos (no
name or face, for privacy) that report
published research findings relevant to the
charity’s objectives. These anonymised
voice over videos were created using
Microsoft PowerPoint, supported with
footage Images available for free from
websites like Pixabay and Pexels.|

This academic 2022/2023 (starting
September) the charity is looking to support
up to five dissertation students at
undergraduate level, and at least one
student at Masters level. As before, the
charity will offer these students access to
premium biomedical 3D animation, motion
graphics, and other creative content.|

## **Financial Review**
|Review of the charity’s
financial position at the end
of the period|Para 1.21||By the end of the current financial period
(07/08/2020 to 06/08/2021) the charity’s
finances looked healthy. On 20 May 2021
the charity received a £1000 customer
donation fund from the Cooperative Bank, to
support the charity’s work promoting
diabetes research, especially on social
media. By the end of the current financial
period only £27 of this money had been
spent (mainly on email & Zoom services).
**Some additional financial information is**
**reported below, which falls just outside**
**the current financial period (07/08/2020 to**
**06/08/2021). Further details will be**
**included in the 2021-2022 annual report.**
Starting September 2021 the charity took a
more targeted approach, launching a 3-year
program offering up to three students from
Liverpool John Moores University access to
premium creative content (e.g., 3d medical
animations), via online platform Envato
Elements, to support research projects that
focus on diabetes or related topics in diverse
populations. The programme was to be
funded by a £1000 Community Grant
provided by Cooperative Bank.
The projected costs are shown below:

programme via Envato Elements is EUR393
[339.26 GBP], while the current balance on
the Charity Account as of 1/07/2022 is
£566.34, after subtracting monthly Titan
email subscription charges and cost of a
Zoom call account).|
