## **Trustees annual report**

Year ending 31 December 2021

The purpose of Bodhicharya UK is to advance the understanding and practice of the Buddhist faith and philosophy. We do this by

(a) providing meetings, teachings and retreats;

(b) encouraging and participating in interfaith and intercultural dialogue;

(c) promoting and supporting well-being in body, mind and spirit; and

(d) supporting the relief of those in need.

The trustees take account of the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit in all of its activities.

In 2021 like many organisations we adapted to the consequences of the covid-19 lock downs. This allowed us to shift a lot of our activities to an on line environment, which actually increased the number and reach of our teachings and retreats, encompassing others in the Bodhicharya family world wide. However, as a result we did not have any significant events or initiatives, and donations were reduced as many of these were traditionally received at events. We have subsequently taken steps to remind people how they can dontate on line, and made it easier for them to do so. We are looking forward to an expansion of our activities in 2022. The financial position remained good, in keeping with our size. We made a small surplus which allowed us to maintain our cash balance
