## Annual Report 2024-2025 

## Aim and purpose 

Moriah Chapel Trust is a charity that oversees the maintenance of several properties, one of which is a listed church building located in the town of Blaenavon in South Wales. 

The organisation is a registered charity and is run by the trustees. 

## Objectives and Activities 

The primary objective of the charity is to ensure that the main property is maintained to ensure it is safe to use for religious services. 

Income is derived through property rentals, property sales and donations. 

## Achievements and Performance 

## Repair of side wall of the Chapel 

During the spring and summer of 2025, the trustees commissioned a builder to undertake remedial works to the right-hand side exterior wall of the Chapel (as viewed from the road). These works addressed long-standing water ingress issues that had affected the building for approximately five years. 

The existing render was carefully removed to allow repairs to be carried out. The project was completed successfully and included repairs to the windows, along with the replacement of the fascias and rainwater downpipes. All works were undertaken in full compliance with the materials and methods specified within the local authority’s planning permission and listed building consent. 

## Financial Review 

Other than a peppercorn rent from Victory Church Blaenavon, the charity received no income during this period. The expenditure was exclusively for the repair of the side wall totalling £52,509. 

## Structure and governance 

## Trustees 

The trust as a registered charity has trustees. These are: 

Mr Nick Walters, Steve George and Jeff White 

The trustees are responsible for all legal, ethical, and financial matters.
